Question about HP COLOR LASERJET CP 3505 N PRINTER

3 Answers

I have a HP Color LaserJet CP3505n and just replaced the Cyan toner . . . but whenever I print out anyting, there is no blue color on the right hand side. I did buy the toner last year in a package deal (all four colors) but have not needed to replace the Cyan until a few days ago - so, it was sitting in my garage for a year. Do you think that's the problem?

Toner is hydroscopic it absorbs moisture very rapidly. The finer the toner particle is, the more susceptible it is to moisture absorption. It can begin to become a problem when the environment achieves a humidity level of 50% or above. The result can be print defects and/or light printing. For this reason toner needs to be stored in a cool dry storage space.

You need to shake these cartridges before you install them in your printer to evenly distribute the toner. Take the cartridge out and gently shake it from side to side and re install it. Good luck.

I don't like saying call the manufacturer, but in this case....
HP has an "out of the box" warranty when it comes to toners.
If you bought the toner 6 years ago, but took it out of the box 2 weeks ago, your warranty started 2 weeks ago.
Call 1-800-HP-Invent and they will of course want to troubleshoot with you, but it won't cost anything if you explain that you just installed the toner, it's new, and you are having this issue.
They should treat it as "accessory under warranty".
They'll either stumble upon what the defect in their cartridge was, or in all likelyhood they will simply replace it.

HP color laserjet cp2025 will not print. Help.

No.

Very few printers will print if they're out of toner, even if the colour toner is exhausted and the print job is only black. Replace the empty toner and if this is the only problem, the printer will continue printing.

My boss want to replace the black ink cartridge for one that prints color. Can this be done with the HP 12-a cartridges? HP Laser jet 1022

Unfortunately laser printers don't work this way. The laserjet 1022 was designed for black and white prints only. In order to do color printing with a laser printer you will need to purchase one that is designed to print in color. The laser printers work a bit differently than the inkjets - the laser printers have 4 toner cartridges, one each for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black, that work together to print a full color page. With the old inkjets you could just replace a black cartridge with a color one.

So, short answer: Sorry but no you can't make a laserjet 1022 print in color. :)

I would recommend looking at an entry level color laser printer from hp, such as the CP2025 (http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF25a/18972-18972-3328060-15077-236268-3673580.html) if you are looking into purchasing a color laserjet.

Hope this helps

Hp clj 5550 not printing cyan

Check the black cover on the pick up assembly under the cyan cartridge. If it is only a fraction too high cyan will not print. Make sure it is clipped in place correctly.

check the locking tabs on the cartridge, sounds like they are not locking down the cartridge.

It's probably the toner cartridge again. See if you can spot defects at the cyan drum unit that matches the marks on your printout.

The red is not printing

At a guess you are using recycled toners? If the recycler has not worked out the refilling procedure properly, the problem you experienced with the exploding Cyan toner is common. It is possible in the act of blowing out the loose cyan toner your have used to much air pressure, possibly blowing toner into the laser beam units, or damaging the toner sensor unit for magenta.
A diagnostic inspection, by a technician would be suggested.

Color toners are empty

Press Green Tick, Right, -> System Setup -> Right, Right, -> Print Quality, Right -> Replace Supplies. Change from stop at out, to override at out. It'll let you print, and you'll get loads more out of your toner before the pages start to fade.
