If you are asking should I get a reconditioned or new, that is personal preference. Just make sure they are compatible with your system.

How to reset the web and reset the counter

the counter would be some sort of integrated chip but if the developer drum is past the max allowed prints it can be reconditioned at some re cartridging places or replaced with a new drum. The drum will need to be reconditioned if it reaches the max allowed use.

Our HP LaserJet 3380 is printing a thick line of grey down the right side of every page. I am pretty sure that is a drum issue. How do I find the drum to clean it? Or is this something else and what can...

Are you using a refurbished toner/drum cartridge? Normally with this machine, the drum is included in the toner cartridge as an all in one. We are having the same problem. There is one lever on the cartridge, that allows it to flip up and you can see the drum, on ours, you can see the toner on the drum, so we are thinking that our cartidge is a bad one, but we used a refurbished cartridge. Will keep you posted on how we fix ours, or if we just end up buying a new one. The stuff to fix this specific printer is almost as much as just buying a new one. Let us know what you find out.

What it says is true. you cartridge is probably refilled and thats almost always a bad Idea with inkjet printers you have to buy new cartridges everytime the last 1 runs out it will cost you a little more but it will save you the headaches

Hi,
the toner crg is located in front of copier, the drum is separated from toner and it removes if you open upper cover.

If the copier ask you for toner open front cover and replace toner.

You do not have to replace drum if the copier doesnt tell you to replace.

Do you get a new drum with a toner replacement cartidge or is it a separate thing you have to buy

Hello.

The drum and toner cartridge are separate items. Both are replaced by the user.

The toner cartridge holds toner/ink. The drum does the work. You will need to replace the drum for every 4-5 toner cartridges used.

I've seen toner cartridges for your printer at $36 vs $60 for a drum.

Hope this helps.

The HP Color Laserjet 2840 Is a Very Good Reliable Printer. I'm curious if you are buying American made components or cheap components from some thrid world country sold at ahuge retailer. They really should stand behind their laser drums, but if they don't then shop over at www.officeinks.com or www.wowsuperdeal.com and Purchase American Made Toner Cartridges and Laser Drums. Office Inks has a 1 year satisfaction and quality guarantee and free return shipping if their ink, toner, drums, ribbons etc, don't make you happy. Only Ships USA Though.

Vertical dots down center of paper HP 1320 printer

If the pattern repeats down the feed path of the paper, then a roller is causing it. The toner cartridge replaces the transfer drum, the fuser roller remains in the printer. Since your old cartridge does not show this problem the fuser roller sounds to be fine. Return the recently purchased toner for a replacment, you should be fine. If not then a proper cleaning by a certified technician would be in order.
