Question about Philips Televison & Video
Probably aging parts, like an electrolytic capacitor. Or something heats up and breaks a circuit board track, like a power on reset chip. I'm sure it can be fixed, given enough time and money, and a complete schematic diagram.
When it drives you crazy, throw it out and buy a new one.

SOURCE: tv connection
connect the composite video output of the player to the composite video input of your TV. The jack should be marked in yellow. Then connect your Audio input of the tv to the Audio out of the player.

You must take the assembly out of the player and locate the part number. Then try using the search engines with the part number plugged in to the search to find a parts distributor or dealer that carries the part. The part number is the key to finding the part. You may have to purchase the whole drive assembly with the motor and and laser combined. I hope this information helps you with your problem.
