Lens can only be cleaned outside on the front surface. Use T-shirt washed with detergent then dried, never rinsed. otherwise you have to change the lense assembly, in front of the sensor. That is a big job.

Display is lcd in front of LED light screen. You can clean between led screen, lcd and also casing screen using cotton T-shirt material, after you disassemble the camera.

Nowadays, digital cameras are disposable, not worth fixing. Buy a new and better one soon.

How can i clean the inside of the lens as there is dust on the inside

Hi Pat, normally dust inside a lens will not affect the image quality. If it does , then really it needs to go to a service centre to be striped down and cleaned. I would imagine this is a zoom lens, as the moving parts in a zoom lens can cause dust to enter the lens.

How can I clean the inside lens of my Ricoh cx5 camera?

Once you start blowing air from aircan (duster) it will move the dust sitting on the barrels' surfaces of the lens. The dust specs will end up on the interior of the lens glass even in larger quantities. The only way to clean it correctly is to take apart the lens and blow the dust out and assemble it back. If the same camera is listed on ebay under $50 buy another one with a clean lens. Sell yours on ebay for parts the difference will be around 15-20 dollars. Not a bad price for getting a cleaner version of your camera. You may even make money by buying a better camera cheaper than you can sell yours. If you camera is still valued at 100-200 range find a cleaning service on ebay for $30.

Cleaning the lens from the inside

Cleaning the lens from the inside is not possible from a practical point of view. However, if you don't care that your camera won't work after you've taken it apart but you just want to see what's inside, then go ahead. If you see dust inside the lens and this is what is concerning you, please know that all lenses have dust inside...it can't be totally eliminated. In 99.999% of cases, the dust doesn't show up on the actual pictures.

I've got some visible(I see it on the pictures and on the digital display) dust (tiny hairs etc) on my lens (actually inside) so it seems I can't get rid of it without taking my cam apart. The dust is then...

If this is a fixed lens camera (you didn't give a model) I'd suggest strongly for you not to attempt to take it apart. Hopefully what you are experiencing is dirt on the outside of the lens. If so turn on the camera huff (breath) on the lens to create a slight amount of moisture and then use a lens cleaning tissue to gently clean the lens.

If as you say this dirt is on the inside then I would suggest getting it cleaned by a camera repair facility. Problem there is a lot of these point and shoot cameras cost more to clean and fix then it does to just go get another one.

Next thing if the inside is dirty they you must have a lot of lint in your pockets or you have been using this camera in a dusty environment. For carrying it would be best in an actual camera case rather then an open pocket and for dusty condition I've used shallow water camera bags and I've also used ZipLock bags while photographing a waterfall.

Error 99 on canon 300d

Canon's error 99 is a catch all for several things the short answer is an electronic connection. Something isn't making contact and the first place to go is to the "gold" contacts between the lens and the camera body. Make sure the camera is off and remove the lens, place the camera lens side down on a clean dust/lint free surface or put a body cap on. Take the lens and holding as vertical as possible with the gold contact points down use a soft rubber red pencil eraser to lightly clean the contacts. You can remove any rubber dust and partials with a lens cleaning cloth NOT TISSUE. Make sure the area is clean of lint and dust, place the rear lens cap on or stand the lens up on a clean dust and lint free surface. the camera is a bit more tricky as you need to clean the contacts inside the mirror box. Hold the camera as best you can face down and again use the pencil eraser to lightly clean the contacts. Holding the camera as mus as possible lens side down. This will minimize any dust, dirt or lint getting into the camera body and eventually ending up on the sensor. Remove any rubber dust with a lens cloth not tissue and don't use any liquid, don't use a puffer either all that will do is drive dust partials into the camera. Once that's done install the lens, next remove the battery and do the same cleaning trick with the battery contacts, if you have a battery grip do the same thing. Okay now check out the camera if everything is go and works then you are good to go. If not then I would suggest doing a camera firmware update, all updates can be found on the Canon web site they are free and will correct any issues your camera has with the internal programming which may also be the cause of your error 99.

How do I clean dust inside the camera? I noticed some splotches on my photos, then looked closely at the lens and it appears there is dust on the inside of the lens.

You can't clean inside the camera. Dust inside the lens would be so out of focus, it wouldn't register on your pics unless the particle was huge. Do these splotches only happen in your flash pictures?

How can I clean the INSIDE of a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ7 lens?

Unscrew the entire lens assembly from the body. The inner lens cannot get debris inside it but the outside of it and the inside of the protector lens can. It's a good idea to do this cleaning in your bathroom with the shower on hot but not visibly steamy as this will cut the airborne dust by 90%.

"00" Apparture

If an aperture of "00" is displayed on the camera's LCD panel, perform the following steps in order. Check after each step to see if the problem remains, and proceed to the next step if it does. (In some cases, you may see "Err 01" displayed on the LCD panel.) 1. Check if the lens is correctly mounted on the camera. If no lens is attached to the camera, "00" will be displayed for the aperture value. 2. Clean the lens contacts. Turn the camera's power switch to OFF, and then detach the lens from the camera to clean the contacts. Use a blower to blow away dust on the lens. Do not touch both the camera's or lens' electrical contacts with your fingers while cleaning the lens. Turn the power switch to ON again and check the aperture value displayed on the LCD panel. Refer to the Instruction Manual provided with your camera for instructions for detaching or mounting the lens. Also, prevent any foreign materials or dust from getting into the camera through the lens mount, and be sure not to damage the contacts. 3. Remove the battery pack. Turn the camera's power switch to OFF and remove the battery pack. Then reinsert the battery pack, and then turn the power switch to ON again.
