Question about IBM FIBRE SAN DATA GATEWAY ROUTER HV DIFFERENTIAL SCSI (2108r3d)
Well this is frustrating to say the least. There are a few possible reasons as to why this is going on one video card is bad, two the screen itself could have a burnt out lamp, three the Window software is corrupted and is not loading. If you can see letters and images at the boot or the BIOS information then the video is OK on the screen. Now if you have a VGA slot on the side panel of your computer plug the cable into another monitor if everything comes on the external monitor then you know the video card is good if not then you know it is not good.
This is the simplest way to determine which part is bad. Once you have determined what the problem or part that is bad take it in if you are not experienced with these types of repairs. If you are then you may need to purchase another board if the video card is bad usually laptops are often on-board and integrated. If not you are fortunate to just have to replace the card alone. So the bottom line is if you can do this repair that is a way to troubleshoot the issues if everything checks out the video card is good then it may be the lamp in the screen. If not take it in to a shop and let them do the repairs. Thanks for using FixYa! John
