This can be an error indication and so needs a check. If there is no heating please do not switch on unless you have confirmed the fault. It is possible that the Magnetron is faulty, the temperature cut off is faulty or the main capacitor is short. It is also quite possible that insect can get into the oven and create soft spots. When you switch on these will create a short and make the voltage jump and in the long run damage the magnetron.
So Remove cover after disconnecting , check for dirt/moisture in the cabin, if so wipe clean and dry, check the magnetron and area clean and use an jet air to clean off.
Make sure that the program controller is working if not check power - step down supply, the pads are responding- if not faulty pads- or the door switches, if contact is not through the microwave will not work.

Now keeping clear of the microwave, switch on, use a cup of water inside to test.
If you notice any sparks shut off as the magnetron or the main HT capacitor can be faulty. replace with same type.
If there is heating without any issues, you can use the microwave safely

Hi, I have mc-7148ms microwave it is not working when power is turned on.Though I have noticed that one red light is flashed for a sec as soon as power is switch-ed on.

Bummer - sounds like you might need a processor board. The red light exonerates the fuse and power coming to the unit, and I have a feeling that it's something expensive - sorry!

My microwave has stopped working. Everything functions properly, including the light when the door is open, and the timer countdown begins when I press start, but the actual unit will not turn on...

Sounds like a bad magnatron (the part that emits microwave energy) or maybe just a bad door switch. If the door switch is bad it won't let the unit come on.

Door Open light flashes and relay clicks rapidly

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.
If it still fails, please post a new help request with the full model number from the tag in or on the unit.

INtermatic Model ST01 timer is to be used in a 3 way switch arrangement. The unit works in one switch position but fails to allow the light to turn on in the other switch position. Several other switches...

ST01C timer replaces one 3-way switch and the other 3-way switch remains.
The ST01C timer does not work exactly like a 3-way switch.
When the timer blue and red wires are connected together, they reverse whatever program is in effect.
When the timer is wired for single-pole, the red wire is capped off. When timer is wired for 3-way, the red wire is used to reverse the timer, thus causing the 3-way effect.
So if timer is ON, and red and blue wires are put together, the timer turns OFF.
That's why the remaining 3-way switch has to be rewired.
The remaining 3-way switch is rewired so it will connect and disconnect the red and blue wires, causing the timer to reverse program each time, and creating 3-way effect.
Other requirements of ST01C is that the black wire must connect to Hot wire, and the blue wire must always connect to Load. This means that you have to correctly pick which 3-way switch to replace, where the hot wire from breaker arrives.
Open following link for wiring diagram showing how to wire for 3-way:
http://waterheatertimer.org/ST01C-program.html#ST01C
All 3-way timers require rewiring second 3-way switch to create 3-way effect.

When I type in a cook time and hit start the light inside comes on and the timer counts down but the machine itself does not turn on and begin to microwave, the dish does not turn, no noise is heard...

the heat is usually controlled by a thermal fuse located on the magnetron inside unit..it is a small round approx. quearter in size and has two wires connected to it... should be closed and if bad it will open not allowing current to go through will require a meter to test... if that is not it the magnetron itself has most likely failed and can be a costly repair... as far as the turntable not turning could be a bad turntable motor and most likely is a seperate issue the motor can be accessed by removing the botoon of the microwave and take wires off and cycle unit test to see if you are getting power during operation to microwave if so then the motor has failed also...

My Whirlpool over-the-oven microwave generated a "pop" sound and red flash last night -- it seemed to come from the left side, where there is a grid of small circular vent holes -- while warming...

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

This can be normal, if you have grease or food stuck on the side walls, just clean entire oven area,

some cooking containers are more apt to causing sparking than others.

If it does it again, i would suggest you call a service company, But your unit can be replaced for around $150.00. So I dont know if it would be worth it.

Sharp Microwave Lights Up, But Won't Rotate or Cook

Hi. I would suggest checking out the door switches. There are usually 3. If one of those has failed then the microwave won't operate because of safety reasons. Best to replace all three. If the display on the unit is still fully operational I'd say go for the repair.

Door latch and Screen

This is because of the broken latch. There are switches inside the oven that are operated by the door latches to make sure you're not trying to use the oven with the door open. With the new door, your oven should be back to normal.

GE Microwave Spacesaver shuts down and trips circuit

I would suspect your high voltage transformer has failed. Here is a link you or someone you know can use for test help, but read the safety warnings first:

http://www.gallawa.com/microtech/xformer.html

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.
