I have done that. To no avail. When I hit the AutoConfig on monitor the screen goes to correct colouring for a moment then back to green tint. I think you may be right about the screen going bad but why would I temporarily see proper colouring?

Thank you so much for your help. I wish it had lasted a little longer before giving up the ghost! Too much to ask for in a disposable society. Thanks again anyway.

not uncommon for a screen to go bad to work sometimes then go bad after. ive had it happen personally where it wouldnt even turn on some times then it would . and seen it with a red tint on a laptop screen. sorry for the bad news. one last thing to try is keep it unplugged for about 20 minutes see if that sets it back . but its kinda like a hard reboot to your autoconfig option. but really sorry for the bad news. :)

Green tint on picture 60in mitsubishi

Turn the color all the way off---examine the screen to see if black and white or screen green in areas or whole screen.

The other possible issue is tint will not vary enough from green to purple when adjusted.

Two different issues--which do you seem to have?

I have an acer aspire one laptop and it was fine when I switched it off but when I switched it on the next day the screen was green and everything on screen is just covered and tinted with this green...

Did you restart the laptop? Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds and it will turn off. Wait for about 10 seconds and power it back up. If it is still screwed up its possible that the video card is going bad.

The picture has a green tint to it on all channels

The color signal consists of Red, Green and Blue. Those three colors, at various degrees, make all the other colors on your screen.

If you have a BRIGHT green screen it's best you don't operate your set.
If it's just tinted green then there is a problem on the CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) drive board. Do check your "tint" setting and see if someone misadjusted it. If that isn't it then you need to have your set on an electronics bench and get an estimate for repair.

Screen has a green tint and cant be adjusted in

Take it back apart and check the video connector from the panel to the motherboard. It may not pushed in all the way or possible a pin was bent when you pushed it back on.

Also possible (hope not) that when you pulled the video connector off, you may have pulled out a wire form the connector.

Best bet is the connector is not fully seated. Disconnect and reconnect the video connector, it should go in with a little snap, do not force if it's not going in! That would be a bent pin or something in the way (cookie crumb, etc).

Good Luck!!!

I have an Acer AL1916a, the main board is bad, I found a supplier, but they want $79.00 for it. It is not cost effective to purchase it. Do you have knowledge where I might be able to get it cheaper?

Hello,

We can repair your board for $35.00 shipping included and comes with a 60 day warranty. The power supply boards on these go out after several years of use. Email me and we can setup a service ticket for you if you are interested.

Screen Green Tint

Turn down your color and see if the screen has a normal black & white screen. If it doesn't then the CRT is bad (picture tube). If it is black & White then you have a either lost your red or blue. That problem will be in your video driver circuit of which a service center can handle.

Green tint on screen

Is it a green tint at some areas alone, oris the entire image having a green tint? If it is a color patch at the corner or other areas of the screen, in all likelihood it is a degaussing problem. Color patches happen when the TV is moved from one location to another, or if some magnetic source is placed close to a CTV. Did you put a radio or Tape recorder or Walkie talkie toy or any magnetic source near the TV? if yes, remove it. And the automatic Dregaussing circuits in the TV will resolve the problem in a couple of days. But if there is an overall Green tint on the picture, it signifies a problem in the Video output stages, and there is nothing you can do, but call the technician (unless you know solid state servicing?)
