Question about Bosch 3.2 cu. ft. / 91 liter Upright Freezer Classixx GSD11133

1 Answer

We ve had the Bosch fridge-freezer (KGU3201GB/01) for about 10 years. Suddenly this morning the freezer started losing temperature, which rose to -13 degrees and the alarm went off. We put the 'superfreeze' on and the temp. went back to -18, but went up again when we switched the superfreeze off.The freezer door was shut all the time. Could you advise what the problem might be? Many thanks and regards, Robert Mansur

Hi Robert, sounds like the unit is not defrosting.

Try this to indicate defost issues.
1. relocate food in the freezer, turn the unit off for 2 days and leave the door open, this will allow total defrost.
2. clean, then restart unit with door closed, after and every 2 hours check temp, I feel you may find it will get to its operating temp reasonably fast and should stay there.

If this is the case, I suspect the defrost heater element has failed and needs replacing, this is the most common cause of your type of issue.

Hope that helps and please dont forget to vote. Regards Russ

I have a freezer that does not keep tempreture. When I set it to -18 it will not get any warmer than -13 and if I try a super freeze it will take it the best part of all day to get to -18 and then it falls...

That you can get down to -18 suggests the compressor works and there is enough gas to get on with. Check the seals of the freezer for a heat leak- it should be able to grip a piece of paper in the door when it's shut. If the seal is bad then the paper will fall out or come with a gentle pull - order and replace the seal.

Bosch fridge freezer stops working after approx 8 hours. Starts OK and freezes OK but next day it's warming up. Turn it off and back on again and it starts all over again and the problem reoccurs..

Short out the dark blue and the dark brown wires that lead into the temp control dial. Everything now works. This bipasses a dodgy thermister or something. Of course this might not solve all similar problems but it does seem a common fault.
