You need to purchase a drive rack PX because it has pre-sets for the PRX518 and it will protect them from you overloading them. Also, if you are playing them and start to hear static your problem is debri in your coil groove which means your woofer is on it way out. Purchase a spare recone kit from speaker exchange and learn to recone yourself it will save you tons.

What is the area that you work in ? are you going from 1 air temp to another ? What I mean is, from home, to car, to job. Something like that have to remain at a constant temp.

My bass cuts when playing but goes back on after a few seconds.

that because you have a loose ground to your amp or not the right size wire but check your ground on the amp it will overheat and turn off to protect itself .

Played at a gig last night when one of my jblprx518 subs cut out also there was a smell as if something had burnt out! Is there a simple quick fix or is it a warranty issue?

Either the speaker or the amp in it or both fried. Check to see IF your warranty will cover the repair.
Make sure that in your venues ALL interconnected equipment is powered from teh same receptacle OR power conditioner module, incling mixers, amps, speakers. Ground bounceof wiring in building power that causes damage most likely will not be covered under warranty.

open it up and check cables leading to sub (large speaker) they're notorious for falling off - getting banged around

The fuse keeps burning out in my jbl sub 10, even if i disconnect the input LFE.

poor design, the amps that are screwed to the heat sink are below a transistor which is catching all the heat, heat rises and changes the bias of the transistor so high it causes runway in circuits that results into failure also the amplifiers are sealed with no air flow, this can't be good.Maybe if they put air vents or remove the cover to panel then the heat will have somewhere to go instead of just building up inside. If this problem is not fixed a replacement is going to fail too.good price bad design.

from our experience rebuilding woofers once the lead wires get pulled too much or start to strain you have been running too much power into the woofer and making the cone move too far in and out.You need to cut the input signal from your preamp down and cut the volume down on the speaker input on you eon. We keep seeing too many of these amped speakers blown from too much signal.

Jbl gto 3501 amp

It's a mono amp. There's no bridging with this amp.

The two pairs of speaker terminals are connected together internally. The second set of terminals is for convenience.
