Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: lcd brightess

Try downloading and installing the ATKACPI driver then the Powergear utility from the ASUS support website. Make sure you get the drivers for the M2N(NB), not any other notebook under the M2000N series. The autoupdater program on the website is unreliable, use the drop-down menus to choose. The drivers are found under Utilities. The site is really slow too...

After rebooting, this should let you pick "Super Performance" in the Powergear utility and if the screen doesn't brighten automatically, Fn+F6 should work.

SOURCE: I have an ASUS Eee PC. Occasionally, the screen

Do a system restore START--ALL PROGRAMS--ACCESSORIES--SYSTEM TOOLS--SYSTEM RESTORE and set your system to a previous date when it was working fine. Try connecting another monitor or LCD screen and see if it works fine [incase if that's ok then it's your screen for sure]
Try reinstalling your graphics driver. You can even try reinstalling your Windows OS. Now it might be your screen or video card or any other hardware problem. If the above solution doesn't solve anything then call somebody from the company.

SOURCE: cant turn the brightness down on my asus netbook

It was the Fn key + F4 for this model which increased the brightness. Fn key +F3 had decreased the brightness. The Tips icon had recommended this to save battery power and I thought wow I can adjust the extreme brightness a little. Unfortunately the screen went pretty dim, and there was no way to turn it up again. Then I found an online manual which related to it, although for windows version not linux which this is. This is a cool website. Thanks guys,
Vic

I have an ASUS laptop and I use fn f11 for volume down, fn f12 for volume up, and fn f10 for mute.
fn is the function key and is found on the left bottom of the keyboard between the ctrl and windows keys.

Dv7-1023cl problems with quick touch buttons

You don't need to activate the drivers. if you reinstalled them then they are there and should be working.

There should be alternate methods to using the quick touch keys, such as using the conventional methods.

For example to change your volume, just click on the megaphone at the bottom right near the time and adjust the volume. Or click Start/Control Panel and look for Audio or Sound and adjust the volume. Also click Start/Programs/Accessories/Entertainment and see if there is a volume control there. Also normally you can adjust the volume by keystrokes. Normally you would Press and Hold the FN function key near the bottom left portion of the keyboard and press the volume keys (there should be 3 volume keys, volume up, volume down and volume mute).

As for the Wireless there is a switch on the side or in the front of the laptop that controls the wireless. Also there are keystrokes that can toggle it off or on once the wireless switch is on. Normally you would Press and Hold the FN function key then hit the correct F1 thru F12 key that toggles the wireless. The correct F1 thru F12 key to hit will have the icon of a wireless signal )))) or it will have the icon of a tower with a wireless signal )))).

Cant turn the brightness down on my asus netbook

You should be able to use the "FN" key and "F5" key, press and hold the "Fn" key then while holding that key, press the "F5" key to decrease the brightness. Use the same(Fn) key and "F6" to increase the brightness.
