How do you put 11,000 in a ti83 calculator

Press 1 1 0 0 0 (without the comma). The TI83 uses commas to separate two items, not as a thousands separator.

How can you get the Ti-84 Plus to display commas in your numbers? Like 1,000?

Sorry, but you can't. The TI-84 uses commas to separate numbers, so "1,000" would be interpreted as two numbers, 1 and 000.

Screen is very dark the numbers are there but barely readable

Your batteries may be getting low. Try changing the batteries. If this doesn't help, you can make the screen lighter by:

1. pressing and releasing "2nd"
2. pressing and holding the down arrow until you receive a desired display.
