Hi possum13,
There are different ways to do this depending on where the bearing is situated. If you have a clear opening you can get a socket or piece of pipe that contacts just the outside race of the beaing and punch it out. If you can't punch it out, you can heat the metal that the bearing sits in and once hot enough, you should be able to pull it out without damaging the bearing. I hope this is helpful. Regards and good luck. Denis.

Hi, I have a Stihl/Viking MT412 ride on mower

Your safety switch may be dead but it is not extinct as a dodo! The switch is only an on off switch, not much can go wrong with it.Try the fuse. You can find the fuse on the wiring loom next to the solenoid.

Ariens ride on mower

The most likely cause of the mower belt coming off is a bearing in the quill assembly which are the upright units that have the pulley on top and the mower blade on the bottom, what usually happens is a bearing statrts to go bad, which allows the pulley to startmoving out of alignment with the other pulleys which causes the belt to ride up on a flange and come off. Usually I reccommend that when you replace one bearing or complete quill assembly you replace all bearings, or quill assemblies this way everything is in like new condition and the problem should be solved. Hope This Helps Don

Hi, I have a westwood ride on mower & the 3 bladed 36inch deck has started to whine bearings I think? Are they easy to change? special tools? parts off who? the machine is just 3 years old Thanks JT

I assume you are referring to the deck bearings. The easiest way to replace the blade drive bearings is to remove the deck from the mower. You can then easily remove the blades, clean the deck and be able to easily get to the bolts holding the bearings and pulleys in place. This is normally a straightforward repair and can be accomplished with common hand tools. You will need to purchase the parts from the dealer who sells the mower. Replace all 3 set of bearings. On a 3 year old mower ask yourself why the bearings failed. Are you washing under the deck when the bearings housings are hot? That will cause premature failure. Are you greasing the bearings regularly?

Sometimes heating the outer ring of the bearing with a propane torch helps to resolve this problem.
