If possible, you need to hook up another monitor to your HP and try booting it up, with and without the new video card. If your pc does not boot still, you maybe have a motherboard problem. You can search ebay and more than likely find a replacement, but if the computer is more than a couple years old, it may be time for a new pc! Good Luck

cable is connected but not rcvg any signal.
the problem is in the computer. Everything u checked is indicated good by that message - at least to the output of the video card.
I'm getting the computer is not booting up. In fact, the processor may not be running. TYPICALLY on an HP the PSU is a problem.

I have a hp w2207h monitor. When I turn on my computer the monitor shows "Monitor going to sleep". everytime I turn it on. What can I do?

Wake it up. No, seriously. What you see is most likely the video signal not getting from the video card to the monitor. When that happens, the monitor takes a nap. Problem could be a loose cable, sleep setting on the computer, or bad video card. Check each of these in the order I listed, as they are easy to hard.

There is a slim chance that the monitor indeed has a problem. Rule out the other possible issues before jumping to that conclusion. If you ultimately believe it to be the monitor, try to borrow someone else's monitor to see how that one reacts.

Hp w2207 monitor says no input when computer is turned on, then says "monitor going to sleep". computer is brand new.

try a different monitor, if the display remains blank on a known good monitor, then it is your video card.

HP w2207 monitor keeps "going to sleep" then it will not come back on and says no input signal.

most times this is indicator of a video card problem, most times you try booting in to vga mode and see does it go to sleep. if it does not go to sleap you video driver is bad and needs to be reinstalled. if it does go to sleep it is usually video card issue. to boot in to vga mode turn ur pc off and once u press on to put it back on start pressing button F8 and advanced menu will come up and you have to choose boot in to vga mode. if this does not work same way go to safe mode with networking and reinstall video driver by going in to device manager.

Sounds like your video card is failing. If the video is internal to the motherboard, get a video card and add it to the motherboard if there is an open video slot available
