Fan blowing constantly eve when oven not being used

There is a "Cavity" cooling fan on most modern ovens that cools the outside parts of the oven when it gets hot. (This is different to the one inside the oven for "Fanbake or Thermowave" cooking) This allows the fan to remain on after the oven gas been turned off and turn itdelf off when it has cooled down. The sensor may be faulty and need replacing. This usually requires a tradesman as you need to know where on the oven the sensor is. If you know how to locate it, try, but make sure the wall switch is off before proceeding.

Hi, I have 90 AJC 06 GC. AEG single oven. At thhe moment when the oven is turned off the cooldown fan will not turn off so I have to turn it of at the main fuse box. Also sometimes the oven turns itself...

The oven cooldown fan will sometimes run for 10 to 15 minutes after turning the oven off. This enables the outer shell of the oven to cool down. Most ovens also have an inbuilt thermal overload in the outer shell. If the temperature in the outer shell gets too hot it will open circuit the oven power until it cools down a bit.

My cooker keeps switching off during cooking even when the timer is not set, the grill does the same

depending on the make some ovens have a thermister where if the oven gets too hot it will cut out untill it cools back down, possibly the thermister is faulty.

I have a Competence B1180, it cuts out after irregular periods of time, although sometimes it may even complete a cooking cycle, if turned off for 10-15min it will re-start, but invariably cuts out again...

Could be caused by either of following;

1. Faulty thermostat.
2. Faulty thermal cut out switch. (controls power to cooling fan).
3. Faulty cooling fan (not fan inside oven).

Test thermostat by setting thermostat to low temperature like 60 oC. If oven gets much hotter then its a faulty thermostat.
To test cooling fan and thermal switch take oven out and remove top or rear panels to expose components.
When oven gets hot the cooling fan should turn on. If it doesn't then check to see if there is a mains voltage present.
If mains current exist but fan is not turnig then replace fan. If mains voltage is not present then its the thermal switch.

OVEN CUTS OUT

Could be a sticking thermostat, or a safety stat operating, this cuts off the supply to the oven if it gets too hot for any reason, then when it cools down a bit the oven comes back on,
If it is built in, make sure it has plenty of ventilation, and check the vents to see if clear..
The safety stat is usually located at the top of the oven under the top cover.
Hope this helps.
Plz rate this solution.
Thanks.

Check the air vents, Dust could be blocking air from cooling the circuits.

Self-Clean gets too hot on JTP56 double-oven

Your husband is correct, kind of. You should not try self clean again until you get the oven repaired. You have a temp sensor going out. I doubt that the oven actually got too hot, most likely the resistor in the sensor is failing as it heats up and giving a false temp reading.Since the lower oven was operating at the time, it is probably the sensor in the lower oven. Don't use it for baking until you get it repaired. It will go out completely and shut down both ovens. You should be able to get a new sensor for around $30 and they are not hard to replace.

The oven won't set your house on fire during clean mode if the cabinets were built with the correct air space and dimensions, but they do get very hot, about 800 degrees F. Most ovens give no trouble during the clean cycle, but if there is any weak components in the electronics system it will show up then. It will give you less trouble over time if you don't use the self clean mode and just manually clean it.

Bosch HBN 455 Oven Cooling-Fan Issue

After the oven is switched off, the after-run of the cooling fan is controlled by an electromechanical thermostat switch. The fan can switch back on, due to residual oven heat that accumulates within the oven's outer case and reactivates the cooling fan temperature switch. Considering yours is making buzzing sounds and activates on and off, the fan's thermal switch may have dirty contacts or just be defective and require replacement.
