If it's crackly, thats just the headphones static itself. If the computer makes any odd system noises or alerts you with anything it might be confused when switching audio from headphones to computer speakers.
If there aren't any notifications on the screen, then your computer should be fine.
I hope this was somewhat informative! If not, let me know exactly what kind of weird sound occurs, I might have a more thorough answer.
Best of luck!

Open up your computer the speakers plug/outlet and the headphone plug is usually at the back of the computer
to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plugs make sure the connections are good
or you might have to clean the dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the CPU central processing unit and your sound card dust causes static to build up in a computer causing it to overheat any many other problems
be sure to wear an anti static earth strap before touching anything inside your computer
hope this helps

Im gettin no sound from my laptop....could u pls help me out?

Hi there,
right a few things to do:
first stick in and play a cd you know works, while this is playing do the following

check it works with headphones.
Unplug headphones
turn volume up
Go into control panel and enter the sound settings. Make sure your sound card is selected and check the mixer to make sure it has not been muted or changed.

Anything more than this required, it would be useful to have your system spec and O/S or platform you are using

Half volume in one ear on my fmj headphones, this only happens in he left ear. Its whenever i pull them out of my ear and i put them back in,i tap them and they go back.

the same thing happend to me... this may soud wierd but have they ever shocked you? cuz if they did that means you blew the speaker... these are GREAT headphones but they are poorly built. the speaker is in the wierd looking bump in the headphone and because its in a sealed enclosure and because its 16 ohms you can blow the speaker easily. just return them. skullcandy is really good with returns.

Turtle beaches make a crakle sound

If you unplug the chat-controller cable from both the headset and the controller, then play the game soundtrack through the headphones, do you still hear the high pitched noises, or do they go away?
If they go away, then a replacement chat-controller should fix the problem.
If the noises do not go away, then your best bet would be to tell Turtle Beach tech support about this --- support@turtlebeach.com.

Ever since plugging in hdmi cable to lgtv can't get sound from headphones ive checked headphones on stereo they work. ive cloned computer with tv im getting sound through tv but nothing from headphones...

there's no way around that. if you use hdmi for sound, it shuts off the digital to analog converter on your sound board. so the headphone jack won't work while the tv is pluged in.

No sound without headphones

i had the same prob. just try blowing into the headphone jack or unplugging and plugging back in the headphones into the headphone jack a couple of times. there must be some sort of problem with the headphone jack that makes the phone think that the headphones are still in or something.

There is no sound

Have you recently used headphones in this device? I have a portable DVD player that had a similar problem. It thought that headphones were plugged in and that turned the sound in the external speakers off. If i plugged in headphones the sound worked in them. So I jiggled the headphone plug in while in the jack and removed it and the sound came back on.
