The lights indicated that I needed to replace my lamp. After doing so, the TV still doesn't have picture. What do I have to do to get it to work?

It is possible that the Ballast is not turning on the lamp. In past years it had been difficult to get the Ballast separate from the Optical Block but they seemed have them available. In order to replace it you will need to remove the Optical Block which is in the center. The ballast assembly is mounted on the right side of the OpticaL Block. Once the Optical Block assembly is removed, it is not difficult to replace. To order a Ballast, call 1800-631-3811. You will need the model number.

I have a 55" Toshiba Rear Projection TV and it works great for 30 minutes or so and then it just turns off. The picture is prefect as is the color...Then will not turn back on again, just flashes a red...

As your instincts have told you this MR.Techie is trying to rip you off. I think what you have is a faulty ballast. A ballast is a part in the projection tv that supplies power to the lamp. If the lamp is drawing more power than normal, then the ballast turns off and resets itself after a while. That's why the set works for a while before turning itself off again. A faulty ballast may reset even though the the lamp assembly is drawing normal power. You may also need to replace the lamp if it doesn't resolve the issue. It is a relatively inexpensive part but you will need the techie's assistance to replace it. Should cost you around 100-150$ for the repair.

Feel free to post back if you need more info.

Reset timer toshiba 62hm116

I do not think failing to reset the Lamp Timer would cause the Lamp not to light. You need to get into the Factory Menu while the picture is on in order reset the Timer. I believe you have a Ballast issue either because the Power Supply is not powering the Ballast or the Ballast not Powering the Lamp. In either case, the only way to know is to have a professional to check it out and give a estimate for repair.
I hope this helps,
