Question about Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5923 - AMD Athlon X2 Dual-Core QL-62 2.0GHz Notebook Laptops

My internet connection says that I am connected, but no browsers work. I had someone in another state look over the computer about a charging problem, and found out that this was a motherboard problem. The computer came back JUST NOW with a NEW PROBLEM. I can't get on the internet. I was thinking about buying a DVD/CD Driver's Restore disk online. Thanks for your help. Ed

You can order a Restore disk by using a computer that has Internet access.
You may need to install a LAN card driver on your Toshiba to get Internet access via your Internet Service provider.
You can download the drivers from a computer with Internet access.
You can download any orall the Windows XP or Vista device drivers for your model laptop from theToshiba WEB site from their download page. Windows 7 web browser does not work


Windows 7 is not a web browser. Internet Explorer is a browser and it should work on Windows 7... provided you have purchased an internet connection and have your computer properly connected. You posted the question and that indicates that you do have a connection and a working browser.

New internet explorer no internet connection


Adding a browser should not effect your internet access.
Do you still have your old browser?
Does it work?
Have you accessed your network connections and checked to see the
condition of your connection?
Did you configure your browser to work on your connection?
--On your browser click TOOLS and go to internet options.
--Check the CONNECTIONS tab
--Click LAN SETTINGS
--Check the box that says "automatically detect settings"
--Uncheck any other box.
If this does not work, u need to provide more info about your network settings.

Internet explorer will not start. I have windows xp home edition and when the problem first stated I had IE 7 I have since upgraded to IE 8 and it still wont work. I have also tried resetting internet...


1. Go on start menu and find "control panel"

2. Once you've clicked on "control panel" click on "network and internet"

3. Click on "Internet options"

4. Click on the "connections" heading

5. Click "set up" and connect it up to your internet. Make sure internet explorer is also set as your default browser. How to set it as default browser - Open internet explorer (with connection or without)click on Tools> Internet Options. Click on the Program tab, then click on the Make Default button.

If that doesn't work -

1. Go on start menu and find "control panel"

2. Once you've clicked on "control panel" click on "network and internet"

3. Click on "internet options then the "programs" heading

4. Click on "make default"

If that doesn't work check on network and sharing centre on your control panel and make sure your 100% connected to the internet.

If you are and my connecting up to the internet didn't work try contacting your internet provider.

Wireless connection will not work


The computer is viewing the signal, but its not connected yet. For that you have to enter a "key" in hexadecimal format. In other words you have to configure the security of the wireless connection on the router, then you have to enter the "key"that the router gives you. To enter the administrative configuration of the router, connect with the cable the computer and in the internet browser, enter 192.168.0.1 or search for gateway IP address of the computer. There you configure Wireless Settings. Always use encryption for security reasons. WEP encryption will be good.

check if you have got an internet connection:

try windows update, if windows can access its automatic updates on the microsoft-homeserver,
then it is a browser issue

if so, come again stating: Operaion System used, how connect to internet(dsl, wifi, modem etc.)
and the browser (firefox, internet xplorer, which version, etc)

Based on the small amount of information provided, I'm assuming that you may being receiving an error stating that the page cannot be displayed.

If there's no problem with your connection to the Internet and you're positive that you are connected then install a different Web browser such as Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome, etc. If you're unable ot access the Internet using your Internet Explorer icon then you will have to use a different computer to download the installation files for the Web browser. After you download it, you will have to save it to something - a CD, flash drive, floppy - something. Take it to your computer and install the browser. Launch the browser after installation to see if it works.

A possible cause would be a firewall blocking all Internet access. This means that you would need to turn it off or reconfigure the settings to allow you to access the Internet.

This issue could also be due to the configuration of your connection and, since I have no clue how you're connecting (dial-up, wireless, broadband), I can't help.

A router may even need to be reset. Who knows...

If the browser shows working offline and wireless is connected fine then it could be an issue where work offline is checked in the browser.
In internet explorer 6 its found on File in the menu, if work offline is already checked, check it again to remove the check mark and then try, if its internet explorer 7 its found on tools, the same steps and in firefox under file,
Also try this step as well, if its internet explorer go to tools-internet options-and in internet options-go to connections tab-there is dial up and networking box-remove the dial up connections from the box-and check the one never dial a connection

also check the firewalls and antivirus programs, post your results.

Unable to get internet explorer but am still able to get on internet via a.o.l


do the following steps :

1. open internet explorer.
2. on the menu bar on the top goto > Tools > Internet Options> Connections.
3. Under the connections tab you would see the LAN Settings tab on the bottom, on clicking the same a new window would open. just remeber to tick automaticly detect my settings and everthing else should be unchecked or in the off state.

Click OK, OK,

and exit the browser.

reopen your browser and it should work...

"yahoo! messenger can't connect"


I cannot connect thru yahoo messenger yet I can connnect thru Mozilla Firefox, I also cannot connect to MSN Explorer- I could not get Expert Assistance here says I am not connected to internet thru Internet Explorer But my internet connection is fine thru Mozilla????????-
