The air pump in under the vehicle on the inside of the left (drivers side) frame rail just behind the electronic brake control unit.
This information comes from the 2008 service manual for a 4.2 liter trailblazer.

Usually this depends on the particular engine model. 2008 chevy trailblazers come with a variety of engine models most of which are 4.2 as the SS model is available and the LT model is also available. But mostly the valve can be found little ways below the top cylinder gasket.on the right hand side depending on the model. But the V8 has it at the right hand side. Dont know about the v6 or I6.
Hope this was helpful?

Sorry but i need some clarification here. Do you need to locate the air valve? as these engines dont use air pumps but air flow meters and these are usually the black rubber like boxes which run towards the right side of the engine.
While the air valve which is that part which lets out hot air in the case of an over heated engine. The air valve is usually the hose which runs from the top compartment of the engine to the lower compartment. It mostly looks slightly smaller than the hose from the radiator but simply it can be identified by where it runs to which is the lower part of the engine.
Engises such as these are quite difficult to mess around with as little things seldom cause fires in them so if you are not sure of your level of expertise i would advise you get an expert to help take a look at it.
    Hoping to hear from you.

2008 Trailblazer P0411 code

The Secondary Air Pump is turned on and off by the ECU. The ECU looks at live data from the O2 sensors. The flow rate and direction of flow, is controlled by the cutoff valve. I believe this is what you are looking for. GM has a few different arrangements so you will have to call the parts department at the Dealership and they will tell you whether you have a cutoff valve, check valve, solenoid, or if is controlled by the air pump itself. If there are anymore questions feel free to write back. Please let me know how the repair is going, good luck.

Check engine light on with code p2440

That code is related to the Secondary Air Injection System (SAIS) switching valve being stuck open. This valve is located on the passenger side of the engine mid position.

2008 Chevy Trailblazer Error codes B0455, B0131, and P0449? The check engine light is on, but it's running fine.

{: ) If your vehicle is equipped with an air suspension system, one possible source for this combination of codes is the wiring along the air compressor located on a bracket on the left rear chassis frame, near the spare tire. Carefully pull the plastic conduit off of the wires, and inspect the wires for any cuts / abrasion or possibly a resulting corrosion (due to a short or open circuit & water exposure)

My 2005 chevy trail blazer has code p0410 and i dont know what needs to be replaced provide that i know that it means secondary air injection system but i need to know the part that needs replacement

check the air pump on your trailblazer, make sure its clean inside and the hoses are properly fastened. also check to make sure it works properly by listening for it when you start the vehicle. if the air pump is working correctly, replace the position 1 o2 sensor meaning the sensor on the exhaust manifold. the air pump is located under the vehicle, inside the frame rail on the drivers side in front of the transfer case crossmember with 2 hoses connected to it.

Secondary Air Injection System Malfunction

P0410 secondary air injection system malfunction. I've dealt with this problem myself. It's either the air pump which is located under the driver's side door on the frame, or it's the valve on the engine that is sticking.
The air pumps are notorious for "freezing up" in cold climates due to water sitting in the pump and freezing and then breaking the impeller from the shaft in the pump. This is what happened with mine.
Remove your pump and test it. If it spins and blows air, then it's fine. Then check your valve on the engine. If that opens (which they like to get corroded with exhaust gasses and stick) Then that will be ok. If not, you'll have a pretty good idea what is going on.
I wnt ahead and replaced both the pump and valve, which were both crappy.
GM also has a check valve that you can install to prevent water from entering the pump. I just drilled a small hole in the bottom of mine to "drain" the water.
