Remove the filter / bag from the compartment, close the cover and briefly turn on the vacuum - is there suction? If so, check that the bag isn't already full / or replace with a new bag. Make sure it the bag is not being pinched / caught under the cover.

If no suction, look closely at the edge of the filter / bag compartment opening of the vacuum. There should be a gasket that the cover presses against to help ensure a good seal. If this gasket is missing, cut, has an object lodged on it or is otherwise damaged - it may be preventing proper sealing of the door; allowing air to be pulled through the gap in the seal - and responsible for the loss of suction at the hose.

Not picking stuff up and no suction in hose as well, suction sounds good until you go to vaccuum floor

Because this unit is bagless there are more gaskets to seal the suction portion of the vac. you are most likely missing a seal, can you remove the basket and place your hand near the suction on the vacuum? it is shielded so you wont lose fingers. if there is suction there, look at the bottom of the basket for a gasket, same for the top

Hi, my power head is not working on model 116 5416083 and I cannot open it up. I think there is a gasket that needs replacing.

If you press on either side of the raised top light cover it will come off. Then you will be able to see the light bulb and two screw heads. Remove the two screws and the top cover of the power brush will lift off from the base and you will be able to access the belt. Here is a link to the belt you need:

Don´t know how to take my Rainbow apart.

Your model is a bit newer than mine, but on mine, I have to peel off the foam rubber gasket that seals the canister to the top of the vac when you put it together. You will have to replace this gasket once you peel it off. Under the gasket are the screws that hold the top cover on.
Hopefully your model is similar to mine, and this is the answer you need!

My Bissell ProHeat 1699

There should be a black oblong gasket that sits between the edge of the noozle and the lip of the tank, If it is missing, then you will have to suction there. Also there should be a plastic red filter, mounted on the tank lid, covering the suction port, it it is clogged, then no suction.

No suction from my bissell powersteamer

You didn't give your model number, but assuming, there is filter on the recovery tank lid, make sure it is clean. Also if you remove the tank, there should be a black oblong gasket on the top of the clear window, where the lip of the tank sits on. If missing, no suction. Tank is not sitting right allowing a leak from the lip.

Bissel powersteamer clearview will not spray water

Did the gasket on the bottom of the water tank come off and is either missing or sitting in the hole where the tank sits? It needs to be on the tank.

Does water squirt out of the hose nozzle, if it does, then check the heater inside the handle asm. Make sure that where the tubes hook up to it are not clogged. If water doesn't squirt, check for the seal at the bottom of the tank, it needs to be on the tank, not in the hole, this is for the soap bottle also, there is a seal on the bottom of it as well. The flow indictor cap is leaking air or maybe is too tight. If you had the top cover off, make sure that the tubes are routed right so as not to get pinched when the cover is put back on, the smart mix knob should be in the water setting and that the piston is on the bottom of the smart mix knob. Pump is bad. Try running a mix of vinegar and water to see if that unclogs the lines. Is the top cover and the base tight together in the back, sometimes the top breaks loose and it will raise up and it can't spray, just re-fasten it down.

My bissell proheat 2x will not **** up the water. The belts are all in tact and I've cleaned out the air ways.

Check the rear cover, there is a gasket there and if missing, you will lose suction there.

Solution not being picked up

Is the filter inside the lid of the tank clean? Is there a gasket between the tank and the top of the clear window. If you take the tank off, and run the machine, there should be suction coming from the square shaft, but if there is a clogged filter, or that gasket is missing, it will loose that suction and won't extract the water.

Troubleshooting

That gasket is a water seal, but it can impact the suction, the top of the water tank can't seal without it.
