Hello Sarah Hilker,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on what you've described, "the washing machine will fill up with water when you press START, and then right when it\'s done filling it won\'t spin it says PAUSED" it sounds like the control is receiving a stuck button/command message.

Of course this is a generalization on my experience. If you could provide the make/brand name and model number I should be able to address your specific issue.

I'll watch for your reply before moving forward. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Hello again, thank you for providing the model number.

Based on your description I actually suspected it was the Frigidaire/Electrolux made washer.

I should mention though I don't believe this to be the case, During normal operation, the display may show:

"SAn" - deep clean (Sanitary Cycle)

"cd" - cool down (Sanitary cycle)

"do" or "dr" - door problem.

"Err" - an error has been detected.

"LOC" - control lock is activated.

    "
PAU" - cycle has been interrupted.

First place to start is to determine if the control has any error codes stored in it. To do this follow these directions...

    READING ERROR CODES:

    1. Wake the washer by pressing any button.

    2. Wait 5 seconds.

    3. Press and HOLD the Start/Pause and Cancel buttons simultaneously. As long as the buttons are

held, the failure code will appear in the display as an E followed by two numbers, a number and a letter or two letters. The control will beep and the Door Lock, Wash, Rinse, and Final Spin indicator lights will

flash. If no fault or error code appears, try this test mode next.

    TO START THE TEST:

    • Turn the Program Knob to the start position,

    Spin Only.

    • Press Start/Pause to start the cycle and save it.

    • Press Cancel to stop the cycle and turn off the LEDs.

    • Press Cancel again to turn on the LEDs.

    • Within 5 seconds, press and hold the Options andStart/Pause buttons until LEDs start sequentially

    chasing, then release buttons.

**This post will exceed the allowable space if I include the complete test so I will send a second post continuing the test.**

    1. All the LEDs will sequentially light. Pressing a button below a light cluster will light all the LEDs in that cluster at one time to confirm functionality.

    2. Turn the program knob (1) click clockwise from the start position. The hot water solenoid will activate

and hot water should enter through the detergent compartment.

    3. Turn the program knob (2) clicks from the start position. The bleach water solenoid will activate and

cold water should enter through the bleach compartment.

    4. Turn the program knob (3) clicks from the start position. The bleach and the wash water solenoids

will activate and cold water should enter through the softener compartment.

    5. Turn the program knob (4) clicks from the start position. The door lock solenoid will deactivate and

the loading door can be opened. When the door is opened, the drum light should turn on.

    6. Turn the program knob (5) clicks from the start position. The washer will fill and tumble. Once

tumbling has started, the Boost Heater (if so equipped) will turn on.

    7. Turn the program knob (6) clicks from the start position. The drain pump & door lock solenoid will

activate and the washer will operate in high spin.

**SAFETY WARNING: If power is removed during this test, the door can be opened. To prevent injury, DO NOT put your hands inside when the tub is rotating.**

    8. Turn the program knob (7) clicks from the start position. The control will signal the last error code.

Let me know what this yields, if afterwards the unit works it was likely a stuck key/button and you'll be fine after pushing and releasing each one in the test.

Why when I pause the spin in Samsung washing machine, and resume the machine fills water into the tub?

I think That probably the machine drops the water when paused and needs New water to get washing again. Safety i guess. And if not and machine taken water in and the water didnt dissapear when paused it probably is better to get it fixed.

Bosch Nexxt 100 washer will not fill with water.

Does the problem occur on both hot and cold washes. If not then check the inlet solenoid . If yes than check the board.

Beko WMP652W washing machine will start cycle but get stuck at end of wash, doesnt go onto rinse or spin any help please?

see the next steps and use the common sense: God bless you
When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem: It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Washing machine won't fill. i filled it by hand with water, it won't agitate either, only spins.

The inlet solenoid is probably bad. And it won't agitate unless it fills and stops filling automatically.

417-44052400 Fills with water, washes, drains/spins then comes to a stop. If I did the diagnostics right it indicates E11? Anybody else have this problem?

e11 is a water problem filling to slow, you could have a problem with your cold water fill line, clogged sediment in the valve or something like that, when it goes into rinse the machine uses cold water so the clothes won't wrinkle and it sounds like it's filling to slow.
