Question about Jacuzzi Amiga, Soaking Bathtub with Integral Skirt - T715

1 Answer

We just purchased a nine year old condominium that has a Jacuzzi tub. It has two plastic or fiberglass panels on the front that have a metal clip that hods the to the frame. I think it is called a skirt panel. The panels are held to the frame by two metal clips, one at each end. One of the clips has come off the panel. How do you recommend that I reattach the clip to the panel?

Study positioning of remaining clip and emulate with the one that fell off. If something broke then you may have to do a Rube Goldberg - a good epoxy might just do the job.

SOURCE: the panel on my jacuzzi bathtub keeps falling off. Previous owner said something about needing clips.

You will need to get those clips at your local Jacuzzi Whirlpool Dealer or use Velcro to hold each panel in place.

I hope you didn't listen to the first answer. If your acrylic tub yellowed with time this can be polished (like you would polish a car using compound) to bring it back to its original color. If you paint it yourself with paint from the hardware store it will yellow with time. Also it will peel and you will have brush strokes/roller traces if it's not sprayed.

Is it possible to buy somewhere the Optional "U-Frame Skirt" for a "Jacuzzi CIVA Whirlpool" bath tub? Anyone know where or other suggestions on covering the front?

Home Deport and Lowes each used to carry a generic front skirt for "jacuzzi" type tubs. You may find something at one of their stores that will work.
The other solution would be to contact a Jacuzzi Showroom for authorized replacement parts.

The casing around the jet on the tub side is cracked and is causing water to leak on the outside of the tub. This has happened to three of the 10 jets. What can I do to fix this?

Cheap plastic fatigues with heat . Silicone will work but will not keep the crack from continuing. The fix depends upon what type of plastic you have . It is likely a polyester like fiberglass in which case you can use regular fiberglass to fixit . Rough up the outside with 80 grit , brush in fiberglass resin ( don't forget to mix in hardener) lay in glass material , repeat until built up . Repair the front with a good "gelcoat " repair kit which allows you to mix match color.. sand with 220 , then 600, then 800, then 1500, then 3000 , polish with automotive whit polishing compound , wax

Need to purchase 2 front panels [white] for Luxura 530 jacuzzi whirlpool bath model N795 also, called skirts

Bath Panels can be very difficult to locate. I would check with your local Jacuzzi Showroom first.
If they are unable to locate the panels you need or they are no longer made then you should head over to Lowes or Home Depot to get a generic panel from one of them and you may need both panels replaced so they match.

Our jacuzzi is almost regular tub and has tow metal buttons, one on the top/edge and the other near jet mouse at the middle level of bath tub. We have not used our jacuzzi for 10 months. Even we only use...

The metal button on the top of the tub is used to turn the tub on/off. the metal button you see in the middle of the tub above one of the jets is the low water sensor.
the water has to be above that metal tab, you have to be in the tub and then touch the metal button on the top of the tub to turn it on.
this system uses the electrical current from our bodies to complete the circuitry and turn it all on and off.

If you are talking about the skirt of the tub, most are held in place with a glue backed velcro type fastener. It is a thin panel of plastic that goes on the front outside of the tub, this is known as the skirt of the tub.

Removing gold toned grab bars and fixtures from old whirlpool tub

sometimes a plumber leaves an access panel to get at the drain and jets under the tub---it's usually small and may not be enough to get a body in---usually the grab bars are permanently glued or siliconed on a fiberglass/plastic tub....a cast iron, or other non-plastic type tub may have removable grab bars...look for access area, or you may just have to cut out a piece of the wall to look----or if you do find a small access panel, and can get a telescoping mirror to look back at the back of the grab bar underneath the tub, you will find your answer----or you could contact the original manufacturer of the tub, and they can tell you if the grab bars are removable....another solution is to coat/paint/sandblast the metal bars however you'd like them to be

I can't speak for all, but my GE front loader has a stainless inner and a plastic outer tub. I don't know what the benefit of a all metal would be. The plastic outer tub seems to hold up fine, The only problems I have expereinced with the washer tubs were the bearing going bad after the seal failed, but its 10 years old. I consider that normal wear.
