Hi. I have a Fujifilm A235 12.2 MP which I bought around 1 year ago. Once I tried to switch it off and it told me "Focus error". From that day on the lens would not move in and out as usual and I cannot take pictures due to this "Focus Error". Please help! :(

In the user manual page 109 it says, when the camera reports a focus error, switch off the camera and after a few seconds switch it on again. If the error persists, contact a Fujifilm dealer.

I hope you checked the battery is full and you did not switch to a manual mode. Check the settings if they are what you thing they should be. It happens to me, that my camera wont do what I want, because I hit a rail, causing the settings to be different from what I thought and wanted.

You should be able to order the charger through any authorized Fujifilm dealer, such as Jessops.

Hello. Unless you have an issue with the lens (crack or deep scratch) it sounds like an issue with the CCD. The CCD captures the image from the lens and digitizes it. There's also a chance it could be some other part of the electronics but I would bet on the CCD. You could try a factory reset but I really doubt it will help. I'm sorry about your camera.

A couple of quick things come to mind first is you may be way to close to your subject for the camera to focus OR you are trying to take a pictures of a shiny subject, painted wall a mirror or some other subject that lacks contrast

u have a 1 year warranty. i would contact the business u bought it from because fujifilms customer service SUCKS

Your lens is stuck, you have two years warranty on this camera, ask your Fujifilm dept in your country or look at the fujifilm support pages.

This is just a suggestion, as I am not an expert.A couple of years ago I had a problem with my older, Fuji Finepix camera related to the computer downloads/programming and I found Fujifinepix web site. I sent them an email and they responded and did not charge anything. Could try that..

The zoom and focus operate on screw thread drives. 1 of these has detatched resulting in "ZOOM ERROR" and locked the camera up. Dis-assemble lens and re-attach drive.
