Yeah, just make sure that the new speaker will handle the amount of watts your radio puts out and ohm matches or it will not sound right, could possible blow it

Reconnecting/retiring Bose speaker cones. Inside speaker I have four coloured wires....Red,Black, Green & Orange....which connectors do they attach to on the speaker cone?

Since you posted this in cars and trucks I assume this is a bose car system. Most bose auto systems have the amp physically attached to the individual speakers. This means each speaker needs the following wires +12v, 12v ground, + signal and - signal. It also means that the head unit cannot directly drive a non bose speaker. If you are replacing the speakers and bose radio the best thing to do is to run new speaker wires. You can reuse the factory ones if you can identify which ones are what...and that may be a pain. If the bose amps are ok and you want to replace the speaker you would need to leave them connected and wire the new speaker to the wires on the bose speaker that come from the bose amp. Depending on the specific bose system there may be an actual wire that runs to the speaker from the amp but on others the amp is directly connected to the voice coil leads of the bose speaker.

Will Bose ever have their own receiver?

Why not look up Bose on the net and email them the question directly.

Bose makes terrific car radios, table top radios, and many types of very good sounding speaker systems.

Need to know what is the easiest way to convert a

It is possible but its going to take some patient custom work. You basically have to remove the entire stereo system out of your 93 Cam and then prewire the 93 to prepare the install of the 5 speaker bose system.

You have to modify the space for the bose speakers from the 96. You have to make sure that when you install the system that the speakers are in-phase meaning that they are not going to sound with the woofers sucking in but pushing out like they have to, to get you best sound, you then have to find a location for your 5 speaker Bose Amplifier eaither under one of your seats if the space is available or somewhere in your hatch area, trunk. Make sure that you use the correct Gauge wires for the power connections, they shouldnt be anymore than 12 Gauge in most cases. Do not try to power the Bose speakers with another amp or you will blow the speakers instantly. I cant tell you how to modify or customize all your work to make this happen, this is something that only I could do if I was present with the vehicle, this is something you have to know how to do or get an installer to do it, the problem is that most stereo shops will not do that type of work, most places will eaither tell you to take a hike or they will throw you an outrageous price to do the job just to scare you away and get rid of you.

Good luck my friend and let me know what happens.

I have a Lifestyle 35 and want to replace head unit with a 5.1 receiver. The Bose subwoofer model LSPS uses a network type cable connector on the sub side and a male din plug on the head unit side of...

The entire 5.1 amplification system, in the Bose Lifestyle 35, is actually part of the Bose Acoustimass (subwoofer) module. The RJ-45 (network type) connector passes a low-voltage signal from the console to the Acoustimass module. If you were to hack the connection, and plug the speaker outputs of a 5.1 receiver to the RJ-45 socket on the Acoustimass module, you would blow the amplifier.

If you are really itching to replace the Bose Lifestyle 35 console with a regular 5.1 receiver, I strongly suggest you sell your Bose system, and purchase a Bose speaker system, such as the Acoustimass 10 Home Theater Speaker System, which is made for use with a standard 5.1 surround sound receiver.

Ok, the front speakers are in the doors, not the dash. Its the Bose system, not sure if I said that earlier. I bought replacement speakers and when I took the panel off the doors, it was an odd triangular...

did you purchase 4 1/4 or 5 1/4 it will be on of those two and the triangular thing you see it a molded fit for that bose speaker but you will have to remove and get a speaker template for you doors to get the job done

Factory bose speakers wont run on a normal stereo

Im sorry to tell you, but they are telling you the true. Unless you have the factory Radio that comes with those speaker they are useless to you unless your car is the same make as the one that those speaker came out of. Each speaker have four wires coming form them? If they have only two wires on them you can use them in series with other in your home theather system.

2002 yukon gmc my speaker is out and I need to know what type of speaker I need.o is it square or round and installation process

Standard Yukon front and door speakers are 5-1/4". Most aftermarket speakers will require an adapter bracket.
Also, there are custom made kick panel enclosures for the Yukon.
Installing new speakers in the doors is a rather easy process. You just need to remove the door handles, door lock and window switches, and the door panel, remove the speaker, disconnect it, plug in the new speaker, and then reinstall everything you took off in reverse order.

One online aftermarket retailer, www.crutchfield.com will send you an "install guide" tailored to your vehicle when you purchase from them. They will also include any brackets, adapters, or wiring harnesses needed, usually at no additional cost.

In order to be more specific, additional information on your vehicle would be required. Is it the Yukon, Yukon Denali, Yukon XL, or Yukon XL Denali and does it have the Bose system with or without OnStar, and does it have the OEM subwoofer?

With this information, Crutchfield or many other online retailers can help you select exactly what you want.

Nope - this site isn't a sales site, it's just a tech advice site on how to fix problems. Your best bet for buying a speaker would be eBay, a salvage yard like www.shokan.com, or the classifieds sections on www.audiforums.com or www.audizine.com.

Repairing BOSE 901 IV series speakers

The grille will come off if you try to pry it off. Then, unscrew the bad driver. Sort of new ones are sold on E-Bay for not a lot of money. Install the new driver, secure it with screws, and snap the grille back into place.
