Shut your off. Wait 30 seconds. Boot the computer up into safe mode by pressing f8 before the Windows screen appears. Select Safe Mode and press enter. Once the desktop appears, restart your computer the normal way.

If it continues you should reinstall your operating system to fix the problem.

How can i retrieve my mail icon

The use of desktop icons has served to simplify opening and using programs in Microsoft Windows.
With a simple click of the mouse, an entire program can be opened.

Unfortunately those desktop icons can also be deleted, sometimes accidentally or sometimes by the desktop cleaning utility that runs in Windows, but there is a simple process to recover desktop icons.

Just follow these steps.

Click it without a ticket.
To restore lost desktop icons, first place your mouse anywhere in a blank area on your desktop. Once you have placed your cursor in an unused area of the desktop, right click.

Check the pop up.
Once you have right-clicked your mouse in the unused area of your desktop you will receive a pop up menu or prompt.

Choose "Properties" by left clicking it with your mouse.

Grab that tab. Once you have clicked on "Properties" you will receive a dialog box.
Click on the tab labeled "Desktop."

Customize it.
Once you have clicked the "Desktop" tab choose "Customize Desktop" which will prompt another dialog box to open.

From there click on the "General" tab.

Restore order.

After you have clicked the "General" tab you will see a list of icons.
Simply choose the icons you want restored or placed on the desktop and then click "OK."

That's it.

You have now successfully restored your desktop icons.

Here's how to create a shutdown shortcut on your desktop

Instead of going to the start menu, choosing shutdown, then waiting for the computer to shut all the programs down, you can create a shortcut on the desktop to do it quickly. You can create a shutdown, restart, or a logoff icon on your desktop which will work a lot quicker than using the usual buttons in the start menu.
Here's how to create a shutdown shortcut on your desktop

1. Go to your blank desktop
2. Right click on a blank space and a menu will appear
3. Choose New from the menu
4. Then choose Shortcut
5. Where it says type the location of the item type in shutdown.exe -s
6. Then press next
7. Now enter a name for your icon. Mine is called SHUTDOWN NOW
8. Press next
9. The Shutdown shortcut will be on your desktop

Different combination you can type in when creating a shortcut to shutdown, restart, or logoff.

Shutdown.exe -s

Shutsdown your computer in 30 seconds and will close all programs and ask you to save all work.

shutdown.exe -r
Restarts your computer in 30 seconds.

shutdown.exe -l
This one will logoff your computer back to the welcome screen where you will need to login again.

shutdown.exe -s -t 1
Shutsdown your computer in one second. the -t 1 tells it how long to wait. (one second in this case) You can put -t 10 or even -t 1120.

shutdown.exe -s -t 15 -c "Goodbye you idiot"
This is my favorite code. It will shutdown in 15 seconds and have a message in the box saying "Goodbye you idiot"
The -c "bla bla bla" stands for a comment.

Notes:

* to stop the computer from shutting down type shutdown /a into the run box located in the start menu..
* -f will force everything to close immediately without asking to save anything.

    SYSTEM IS RESTARTING UNEXPECTEDLY

    Hello Rijumohan.

You havnt specified that is your system showing the desktop screen or it restart itself at the begining of the BIOS Message.

if you are able to see the desktop screen then:
The first thing you should suspect about the Viruses.
Because your virus leads to your very slow as well as restarts itself without awaring you. It is caused by Worm and Trojon viruses. For making sure that ur system is suffering from virus go to tools in menu bar and check for folder. if the folder option appears to you then it is okay. again try to go to Task manager by right clicking on the tasl bar. If the task manager is also showing then you are not affected of viruses. Run any antivirus setup if you are suspected about viruses on your system

another reasion could be, missing of attrib.bat or command.com file from ur system.
for these reasion Repair or format ur active drive.

OR If your system restart itself at the begining of the BIOS Message:

    1. Then your RAM goes bad.
    2. You havenot installed ur Expansion card properly.
    3. If you have attached to hard disc then check for jumper settings. (or if you have attached two hard disc, one is SATA and another is PATA)

do the remedies for the same

(Gimme ur acknowledge by rating me)
