You need to look at your wiring of the speakers and the Ohm rating on your speakers.
Below are the specs of the amp. You have the Tri-Way amp and the switch that controls
which way it configures it's output is critical. If you are powering just 2 speakers you set the
the Tri-Way to bridge only. Problem is, I cant find a manual. Legacy's site ( Manual Coming Soon.I say call them and ask for a manual to be emailed to you or mailed.

Rum a fused power line to the Battery, a fused remove on from the head unit or keyed fuse in the fuse box, ground it to the chassis, hook up the signal source using speaker wires or pre-amp cables. Bolt it down so it wont more while driving

What would be the best way to wire 2 1800w 4 ohm boss compact speakers to the boss cx950 amp

As the amp cannot support a 2ohm load you have to hook each sub up to one channel on the sub and you can't run them in bridged mode.

My amp is giving me very little power. what should i do?

There are several things you need to look at.

First, do you have the right guage wire for your amplifier. You need to look at the fuses on the amp. This will give you a good idea what kind of power draw it is putting on the electrical system. If you have one 40 amp fuse, 8 guage should be sufficient, 65 or higher, 4 guage is preferred.

Make sure that your ground is good. Always use the same guage wire as your power wire. If you have a multimeter and know how to use it, it will help find the best place to ground your wire. Always sand around where you mount your ground screw to allow for the best contact of your wire.

Check to make sure your RCA gains are turned up on the amp.

This should give you the best chance of getting good power to your amp, and thus, to your subs. If you still have trouble, there may be internal problems with your amp.

I have a Jensen A600HLX hooked up to Rockford 12 and it keeps getting hot and cutting off. I have it mounted on the top of the box. What is wrong?

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A SOLID, STRONG GROUND CONNECTION BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE!!!!!
Make sure you are using the proper gauge wiring for your amp.

Is the amp set up in bridged mode? What is the impedance (Ohms) of the Rockford Fosgate 12? If the impedance of the speaker is different from the impedance for the amp in bridged mode, it WILL get hot and cut off. Also, if you overdrive the amp, the same will happen.

    The amp is stable :
  • 75 watts RMS x 4 channels at 4 ohms
  • 100 watts RMS x 4 channels at 2 ohms
  • 200 watts RMS x 2 channels bridged at 4 ohms
  • 300 peak watts x 2 channels bridged at 4 ohms

  • Also, what model is the subwoofer? What are the specs? Is it single or dual voice coil?

You can most likely mount a cooling fan on the amp and have it turn on using the remote sensor wire. If the amp still cuts out, you're overdriving it.

Good luck and keep me informed!

Well one problem is you might need a smaller amp depending on how many speakers you have, 1200 watts is way overpowering for 300watt max speakers and could possibly blow them and even catch them on fire!!!! But everything else is compatable because all of your epuipment is of a newer products but if you dont have 4 guage wires or anything else make sure you get them heres a list: 4 gauge wires for power and ground, REM wire "blue is the normal color" RCA jacks, A compacitor, fuse for battery to amp to keep system from blowing up, 8 gauge speaker wire or even 12 guage to hook up from the amp to the speakers, That should be the common things you need to have a good thumpin system!!!!

How to hook up 2 10 inch speakers

For best results the output resistance of the amplifier must equal the combined resistance of the speakers. So if the amps says 8 ohms and you have two 4 ohm speakers you put them is series or if the amps says 4ohms and you have two 8 ohm speakers put them in series. If it says 4ohm and you have two 4 ohm speakers best to use only one. It Depends on the output resistance of the amps. It is usually written at the terminals where the speakers are connected.
