Most Netgear wireless routers use 12 volt power adapters. The label on the Netgear shows the voltage input required.

I have a Netgear wireless router WGR614 v5 with the AC adapter of 120V-60Hz-16W. I've moved to Europe where the electricity is 220V. Can I use an AC adapter of 220V for this wireless router? Thanks a lot...

Yes, make sure you have a new power supply with the right voltage output, enough current (if the new power supply is rated for more current output, it will be OK), and the right plug with the right polarity.

Check your power supply, some will actually work with a wide range of voltage, some actually go from 100-250VAC. 50Hz-60Hz

Link the netgear wgr614v10 to linksys wireless adapter

First you will need to check the wireless settings of the router. Do you have any computer connected to the router ? If not then connect the computer to the router and open the set up page of the router, check the wireless settings of the router.
Once you have all the wireless settings of the router then you can try to connect to the wireless network on your wireless computer.

Hi! I have NetGear WGR614 Wireless Router. I was using this for last 2 years. After I moved to new place this piece is not having the power ON. Not sure why

Try to hard reset the router. There is a pin hole at the back panel. Press and hold it for 30 seconds while it is power on. After doing so, unplug it from the power for 5 seconds then check if it will power on. If this will not work try to use a power adapter with the same specs.

Your WEP key is the key (or passcode) you entered when you (or someone) set up your wireless router. If you didn't set it you need to ask whoever set up your router.

How to set up Power backup using Batteries and an Inverter

Having only two batteries and an inverter is not an UPS (uninterrupted power supply) does not make a backup power system.
How are the batteries charged up and maintained?
What is the output voltage from the inverter?
Does this voltage suit the Netgear wireless router?
I suggest you get a proper UPS and connect the Netgear power adapter to the UPS. There are small UPS units available 350VA which will suit your needs.
I use a larger UPS from APC for my computer and my wireless router and found the unit very reliable.
Check out APC WEB site - click on this link - then your country and select back-UPS ES for home computers :-

Power supply only putting out 6 volts vs. needed 12v. Router sees that as a "loose wire". Looking for replacement power adaptor.

Hi, I want to tell you that if you are looking for the replacement for the power adapter you can call netgear and you can purchase netgear adapter from the customer support for netgear. And also you can buy any other power supply adapter which have the same power supply voltage and you can use it without having any problem.

Router wont turn on when i plug it into the wall.

That sounds like your power adapter is not working properly.
You can either
  1. replace it if you have one lying around with the same specifications (make sure the small plug fits in the router!)
  2. using a voltmeter to test if there is any power at the output
  3. take your router to an electronic store and let them test the power supply or the router.
The specs for your adapter are:
Input: 110V / 60Hz
Output: 12V / 1Amp

That means:
The voltage should be within +/- 10% of 12V. More is not ok.
Any other adapter has to be able to deliver at least 1 Amp. More is ok.

If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

Need new power adapter

you should be able to buy a universal power adapter from Radio Shack that will most likely have 4 or 5 different connection tips and will be able to change the voltage to different voltages.

Good Luck

How to install with out the cd?

Are you using XP? You shouldn't need the CD.

http://www.netgear.com/Home/Products/Adapters/GWirelessAdapters/WG111.aspx

Gives you information about the USB adapter.

http://www.netgear.com/Products/RoutersandGateways/GWirelessRouters/WGR614.aspx

That gives you information about your wireless router.

Do you need a manual to set this up? It looks like there are different version of this wireless router. Which one do you have? This can be identified on the package or the unit's bottom label.

Once we know which version you have we can continue.
