The coils jeep freezing up I have cleaned the filter

usually means Freon charge is low, you might have a leak..... also, filters don't catch everything. over time what gets past the filter can be trapped in underside of the evaporative coil on top of your furnace..... outside condenser coils may be caked with debris, improper air flow threw coils can produce liquid Freon back to evaporative coil causing it to freeze..
hosing the condenser down will resolve freezing up too

The front of the unit behind the filter freezes up. Worked flawlessly for weeks but freezes up. Cleaned the filter several times but continues to do so.

the reason for the coil (behind the filter) to freeze up is 'low air flow' over the coil, which is usually caused by a dirty filter AND/OR the coil itself.
Be sure the coil is clean and not clogged up. Shine a flashlight into the fins and be sure it's clean.
If it is clean then you need to look at the fan motor. Is it blowing correctly? Is it cutting off at times?
Low air flow across the coil is the main problem with coils freezing up, although less likely is a 'low refrigerant charge.'
I would make sure the coil was clean and the motor was blowing air across it in the proper manner.

The unit keeps freezing up solid even on energysaver

Change or clean the filter and clean both coils, no air flow or reduced air flow, the coil will freeze. It will also freeze if its set to cold 72 min. setting. Example if your room temp is 72 degrees, than the air will be 52, and the coil temp is 32 degrees, any moisture will freeze. Hope this helps

My Airconditioner has ice forming and no cooling. can u suggest what the problem cud be?

Most likely a slow refrigerant leak. When the refrigerant is low, it actually gets colder and causes freezing in the coil. Another possibility is the coil is dirty, not allowing enough air flow through the coil. You didn't indicate if this is a room air conditioner or one attached to your furnace. In either case the coil should be cleaned first. Then if it is still freezing, you will need to have the leak repaired and refrigerant (freon) added to proper level.Normally the coil is not below freezing, but when the pressure drops too low it gets colder and then the condensate that normally drips off the coil freezes.

Coils freeze up

Make sure blower is running at the proper speed, if it's running to slow do to bad bearing or capacitor, the coil will freeze up.
Check evaporator coil and filter to see if they are dirty if they are then the coil will freeze up
Check the charge if it's low on refrigerant the coil will freeze up.
If your not sure how to check these things, then you should have a HVAC company, check it out for you.

My freezer coil keeps freezing up. I replaced the

In the freezer coil is a defrost heater coil, and a defrost thermostat. You have to expose the freezer coil to find them. If your local dealer can't get parts, I get mine from Repairclinic.com.

Coil freezes up

Usually when the indoor coil freezes up you either have dirty filters or coil but if you had this unit replaced last year your coil and filters are probably OK so you probably have a leak in the unit and are low on refrigerant.

Condenser coils do not freeze, it is the evaporator coils that freeze. If it is icing up then the setting is too low for the area it is in, basically the humidistat will never be satisfied so it will run continually and end up freezing the evap coils, the coils could also freeze if the filter is dirty or there is an air flow problem.
