Question about Cell Phones
I found the same problem when I bought my J700. Shoddy design. If you wear rubber gloves the back can be slid off in the direction of the arrow.

Stick a fabriccy plaster just under the samsung logo and use this as a non-shiny place to put ur 2 thumbs and push as normal. i spent all day yesterday trying different methods and this worked str8 away in seconds! good luck.

Use a broad rubber band as an interface between your thumb and the cover - It gives you the traction you need to push it.....

Grip the phone tightly with both hands (face down, top facing away from you). Using both thumbs, press very hard below the Samsung logo, with thumbs central to the sides. Slide cover in direction of arrow. NOTE: YOU NEED TO GRIP PHONE TIGHTLY & PUSH VERY HARD WITH YOUR THUMBS! DO THIS OVER A CARPETED AREA INCASE YOU DROP YOUR PHONE!
If you repeat this proceedure the cover will loosen slightly, making removal easier.

SOURCE: Got a new samsung j700
Remove the battery cover. To do so, press the ridged area on the
battery cover using your thumb (1) and gently slide it in the direction
of the arrow (2). Remove the battery cover.
Place the battery so that the three brass tabs on the end align with the three brass prongs at the bottom of the battery compartment (1). Press the battery down until it clicks into place (2).
Replace the battery cover. Make sure that the battery is properly installed before switching on the handset.
