I can't remove the battery cover either! Anyone know how to do it?

  • Anonymous Dec 19, 2008

Yeah, I have two of these exact phones and i can get the battery cover off of one, but can't even budge the other. Give me a break Sony!!

  • susied007 Dec 25, 2008

Unfortunately, we've had the same issue. It was bought for our son's Christmas and when we decided to get it charged and set up tonight (Christmas Eve) for him to use on Christmas Day, we fell at the first hurdle and couldn't get the battery cover to shift.

Many frustrating hours have passed and we've both got sore thumbs and still can't shift it. We have tried both suggestions posted here without success. It'll be going back to the shop on Boxing Day but in the meantime our son will be gutted.

Yes, we are in the same trouble - thumbs exhausted and sore and battery cover still stuck solid ... not a good start to Christmas ...

I found the same problem when I bought my J700. Shoddy design. If you wear rubber gloves the back can be slid off in the direction of the arrow.

Use a broad rubber band as an interface between your thumb and the cover - It gives you the traction you need to push it.....

Grip the phone tightly with both hands (face down, top facing away from you). Using both thumbs, press very hard below the Samsung logo, with thumbs central to the sides. Slide cover in direction of arrow. NOTE: YOU NEED TO GRIP PHONE TIGHTLY & PUSH VERY HARD WITH YOUR THUMBS! DO THIS OVER A CARPETED AREA INCASE YOU DROP YOUR PHONE!

If you repeat this proceedure the cover will loosen slightly, making removal easier.

SOURCE: Got a new samsung j700

Remove the battery cover. To do so, press the ridged area on the battery cover using your thumb (1) and gently slide it in the direction of the arrow (2). Remove the battery cover.

Place the battery so that the three brass tabs on the end align with the three brass prongs at the bottom of the battery compartment (1). Press the battery down until it clicks into place (2).

Replace the battery cover. Make sure that the battery is properly installed before switching on the handset.

Thanks.
