Make sure the disc has no scratches or cracks.
Make sure that the DVD/CD drive is working fine.
If it was burned copy, try burning it again at lowest speed.
If it was purchased or acquired genuine copy from microsoft, please call them for replacement.
If it was provided by a Manufacturer, (Dell, HP, Toshiba, Acer, E-Machine)obtain it from them.

My SONY MHC GNZ 7D shows please wait in the DVD position.Other functions such as Tape,FM Tuner etc are working fine .Please help.Question from N.Shankar

Hello
Check it with an MP3 disc and a viedo disc. Cehck both of them are reading well and OK. Check with new CDs. If these discs works on and the problem occurs only with DVD discs, check it with other DVD discs. Some writion formats may not recogonized by the set. If the problem occurs with all discs, just put in a lens cleaning disc into the player, and pley it at least three times. This disc can be bought from most of the electronic spare parts at your town. If after cleaning, the problem perists, the Laser Pickup Unit should be replaced with same type and number. If you are experienced to disassemble and reassemble the CD mechanism, you can do it by yourself at home. It is a skilled work. If you are not experienced, get this set repaired either by Sony Authorised Service Center or by any well experienced service techinican you know well. OK.

Games will not load on xbox 360

Hello,

If once you put a game in the disc tray but it is does not load, you still have the dashborad on the screen or its just says "Reading" then "Open tray". You'll need to check first that you didn't set your Xbox 360 to boot to the dashboard.
To check this turn on the Xbox 360 with no discs in the disc tray. Go to the System section then Console Settings then Start up make sure it's set to Disc not Dashborad.
If you select disc the Xbox 360 will play the disc when you turn it on. But if you select dashboard the Xbox 360 will stay on the dashboard when you turn it on.

If you did so and still not loading, try another thing. Make sure this issue isn't with this disc only. Try some other discs and DVDs if you have to make sure is it an issue with this disc specifically and by then you'll need to get another disc or it's the console itself.
You'll need also to make sure that your Xbox 360 is not overheating and it's in a well ventilated place.
Check that the date and time are set correctly. To check this go on the System section then Console Settings then Clock then Date and Time. If it's not set to the correct date and time, set them correctly.
The last step to try is to unplug the Hard Drive and try some discs without the Hard Drive attached just to test is it the Hard Drive or the Xbox 360 itself faulty. If you did so and it worked without the Hard Drive, it would be obvious that it is the Hard Drive's issue.

Take care.

X-box 360 screen says " to play this disc put in xbox 360 console"

That might be something related to your Xbox 360 console itself or the disc you are trying to play on, so first have a look on the Xbox 360 game disc itself and check whether there is any kind of scratches or flaws on it.

If you find a scratch or a flaw on the disc that seems to be the reason and just to check it you can put any other game in your Xbox 360 console and try it once more, if the other game is working fine that definitely assures that it's a fault with the game disc & check on the scratched discs page on our web site for more information about the reason for this issue to occur.

In case there is no scratch or a flaw on the game disc try the following steps:
1- With no discs in the disc tray, go to the System section on the dashboard.
2- Select Console Settings.
3- Select Start Up.
4- Make sure it is set to Disc not dashboard.
If it is set to dashboard, select Disc and try the game again. It should work.
If is already set to disc or you tried setting it to Disc and still not working try the following steps:
1. Just clean the disc & put it back in your Xbox 360 console and see whether it's going to work again or not.
2. If it's still not working try also another discs to know whether it's an issue with the actual Xbox 360 console then or not.
3. If the other discs work fine you can try it then without the hard drive because it might also be something related to the hard drive.
4. If it is still not working so this game disc would be for sure faulty and you have the right to exchange it from the retailer you bought it from as it's not scratched.

In all cases if other game discs are giving you the same error message "To play this disc, put it in an Xbox 360 console" you need then to contact Xbox 360 customer support to send your console to get repaired or exchanged.

COMPUTER PROBLEM

You're computer is still good and will work fine after an operating system reload. You can order a set of recovery discs directly from Acer, or you can purchase an operating system disc from Walmart or Bestbuy, either way will work. Keep in mind that if you order recovery discs from Acer that the operating system and the drivers for your machine will be included. If you just purchase an operating system disc, then you will have to go to Acer's support site and down load any drivers that you need after the install. Also, check in the set up to see if the machine is still recognizing the hard drive. If it doesn't, you may have crashed the drive during the interruption.

Disc Eject won't work after improperly inserting disc and since removing it.

I have an DZ-MV780 with the same problem. I found that the cover plate around the flash hot shoe only has a single screw. If you remove it and pull up the cover you gain access to the gear and lock mechanism. Hit eject and if necessary press on the white gears you see in front of the zoom switch. It should then cause the door mechanism to unlock and open.
