Question about LG Televison & Video
It is the power supply regulator board problem. You must have a digital multimeter with frequency counter and soldering iorn to preceed the work. you must have some experience in servicing digital electronic boards. Be patient and beware, as you are to work with AC mains supply board, and should wear a gloves.
Approach the power regulator board, can be easly located as power chord goes to a small board inside which contains some filter chokes and after spike filtering it comes to the main power baord [MB-03CA]. Find the P841, a connection comes out from it, which contains 6 connections, which in turn supplies voltage for the fan and [2 pins], other two of them will be marked GND and an other one [S12V] and the end pin marked [PWR]. this PWR pin will be connected to system control section, and is meant for power On. and Power Off.
Check the voltage at this pin while power is on to tv, and make the power OFF and On with remote control. The voltage at each press of the power button on the remote control should change voltage at this pin to High [5V] and Low[0V]. this is the first check you should do. Be very careful, as all the parts in that board are Live and dangerous to touch.
If this test is Ok, come towards [P821A] on the same board and measure the voltages at it [11 Nos] pins. I'll give you the voltages that should be at these pins here. Pin1=ground. pin2=17V. pin 3=11v. pin 4=ground. pin 5=ground. pin 6=ground. pin 7=ground. pin8=4V. pin9=4V. pin10=ground. pin11=7V.
If any of these voltages are found abnormal or none at all, the power inverter board should be replaced with a new one. There will be specifications and number on the print side of that board and should be noted when order for a new one.
First of all, unplug and replug these to connections. if there is any loose contact have between connection, this process will set it right. If not replacement of the power board is recomended. OK.
