DS would not charge.. i place the power cord connection into the DS and the orange light turns on for a few seconds and then shuts off.... i cant tell what is wrong with it.. i need help to see if it is internal??

I have the same problem as Julio, when connected to the charger the light comes on for a second only. The DS does not turn on at all, also when connected to the charger. I have changed the charger and the battery but no luck. Any ideas?

mine does the same thing. I had a problem in the card slot which I fixed (bent pins) but I hadn't used the DS for about 6 months, so i suspect the battery died. I replaced the battery but the light goes out after about 1-2 seconds. I checked the old battery in another DS and it was ok. The strange thing is, if you put the charger on the DS without the battery installed, the light does the same thing. now I suspect that the insides are fried... any help would be greatly appreciated.

Either replace the battery, or let nintendo do it. There is no button to reset to factory settings, sadly.

Take the battery out of the DS for a couple of minutes, this will reset to default settings.

You can simply remove the Li-ion battery for a short while - it doesn't retain info when batteries removed.

SOURCE: Nintendo DS lite "L" "R" button dont work

OK the buttons are probably dirty. I had this same problem with my DS. Pry open the outside edges of the buttons until there is a gap. Blow into the gap while making sure you dont spit in the console. This should clear out the dirt and make your buttons work.

SOURCE: Is my Nintendo DS Dead?

You are going to have to send it so that they can reset your system. Also, it could be that it is working but there is a short to your LCD screen. look around at some companies that fix gameing equipment. I went to www.cherryfusion.com and they fixed my sons DS. he had dropped it and the top screen would not come out. they had to change out the LCD screen.

How do I reset "Littlest

Unfortunately there is no easy solution for this problem. The only way I know of to factory reset a game for Nintendo DS is to use a third party application with a backup card (acekard, R4, etc). There is a program for use with those cards that will allow you to do it, but the legality of that option is sketchy at best. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

How to reset your nintendo DS

Hi. Here's the procedure on how to reset the console. Take note that if you are going to do this procedure this will erase all of the data saved on the system and restore the unit to its original factory settings.

Remove the cover for the battery compartment. The compartment is located on the back of the DS Lite unit, and the cover has a small screw holding it in place. You will need a Phillips size 0 screwdriver to remove it.
  • 2 Take out the DS Lite's battery pack. There is a tab at the top of the battery pack. Insert your fingernail or the end of the screwdriver carefully into the edge of this tab and pop out the pack.
  • 3 Keep the battery pack out of the unit for at least 10 seconds. If you keep the battery pack out for too short of a time, it will not reset the unit.
  • 4 Put the battery pack back into the unit. Just line it up in the compartment and push it back into place.
  • 5 Replace the cover. Secure the cover back into place with the screw.
  • 6 Turn on the DS Lite. If the unit has properly reset, a screen will come up that reads "Before you begin, you must adjust system settings." You can now enter all-new settings and information on your DS Lite. If you do not get the system settings screen, you did not keep the battery pack out long enough. Repeat the steps and leave your battery pack out for a longer period of time.

Calibrating wont work.. i want to reset it

When you turn on the ds, go into settings (the center icon at the bottom), the press the yellow icon. I assume you got to that part.
Now you have to tap the calibration points; as you touch them, they should move to the next point (three altogether). Does that happen?
Next, you should be able to test it at four points. They will turn blue when you touch them. Does that happen?
If there is no response when you do this, your digitizer may be faulty.
The DS will reset to factory if you remove the battery. You need a small phillips screwdriver for that, on the bottom of the DS.
