Green and amber lights flash altrenately and the number 6800 appears on the screen

Is it possible that the error is 6B00 instead of 6800? This would indicate that the problem is a paper feed position error. Check for any jammed paper in the printer. If your paper tray is removable, take it out and lift the top of the printer to expose the ink cartridges. Check in every place you can for any stuck paper, even small pieces.

It is also possible that it could be a mechanical error with the actual paper feed mechanisms, which would require service from a professional.

Canon mp600 printer repeated error code 6B00

After reading through earlier problem fixes, I inserted a piece of Card right through the feed system then taped all the covers and loose paper feed trays closed with masking tape. Picked the whole unit up, turned it upside down and shook it up and down and side to side quite hard. Put it back in place on the desk, undid all the tape and plugged both cable back in and switched it on. It went through a long startup process, spat out the card sheet and has worked OK since then (about 15 sheets printed).
Thanks for all the ideas in earlier fixes.

My cannon mp600 printer makes a whirling noise when i switch it on.and comes up with error 6B00. the noise sounds like the cartridges are struggling to move across

From reading up specifics...

i have a couple of different pixma printers but have done similar things...

Paper feed position error [6B00]

possibly something is jamming the paper feed... like a toy or pen down the back or a tiny piece of paper?

have a good look ... maybe blow out with AIR DUSTER ... (still no go?)then after that try turning printer upside down and give it a gentle shake, yes, really

be careful though

IP4000 service error 6B00

6B00 is a paper feed error, look in the back with a mirror and flashlight, and see if something has fallen in where you put the paper for printing.

Error code 6B00

6B00 is a paper feed position error, the paper feed is not returning to the home position, or the encoder wheel was damaged. You can try to manually turn that large roller, and then power up again, but if it doesn't help you'll need a shop repair.
