That is meaningless. The important rule is to be sure the clothing you load in can float freely in the amount of water you give it, always use powdered detergent and the warmest water the colors involved will tolerate. Don't wash things that float, don't jam your comforters in your home machine....

SOURCE: My washer will fill up and drain, but it wont agitate or spin

hi friend,
If your washer won't drain, check these:

It spins, but doesn't pump
It doesn't spin or pump
It pumps, but the water returns
It spins, but doesn't pump
If your washer spins but doesn't pump the water out, the drain line is probably clogged. In many
washers, a small sock or other piece of clothing can get between the clothes tub and the outer tub
that holds the water. If the clothing gets between the tubs, it may then get into the drain hose that's
attached to the pump--or even into the pump itself. If it's in the pump, you need to remove the
hoses
from the pump and pull the item out.

To remove the sock from the outer tub port, open the washer's main access panel and remove the
large-diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub. Then, using
needle-nose pliers, try to grab and remove the clothing through the port.

Sometimes you can't remove the stuck clothing from below. Then you have to remove the agitator,
top of the outer drum shield, and inner clothes tub. This isn't easy to do--and you may need special tools--so you might
be happier getting a qualified appliance repair technician to do the job.

If the drain line isn't plugged, the problem may be with your pump. Even if the pump appears to be
turning, the internal impeller may be broken. If so, you need to replace the pump.

It doesn't spin or pump
If your washer doesn't spin or pump water out but the motor is running, your washer probably
has a frozen pump pulley. If so, you need to replace the pump. To check the pulley, remove the
pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen
or stiff--replace it.

It pumps, but the water returns
If the water that pumps out of the machine goes back into the machine after the spin cycle, your
washer may be siphoning the water from a laundry tub that has a slow drain, back into the
washer. The usual remedy for this is to improve the draining of the laundry tub. (Is something stuck
in the drain?) Also, check for these problems:

* If the drain hose reaches more than about 4 inches into the laundry tub, cut off the excess.

* If your drain hose is lower than the washer's cabinet, install an air gap/siphon break assembly.

SOURCE: My Estate by Whirlpool Corp. TAWX700JQ3 will fill up no drain, spi

The problem is usually related to a lid switch malfunction. The lid switch is located under the right-hand side of the tub rim and is activated by a small plastic piece on the lid, called a "lid strike". First, make sure the lid strike is not broken off. Second, double check the two mounting screws that hold the lid switch in place along the tub rim opening on the right-hand side. Sometimes, all that is required is to tighten the screws that hold the switch in place to realign it with the lid strike. If all parts are in place, open and shut the lid. You should hear a distinctive "clicking" sound indicating the switch is activating. If the switch still does not work, replace it. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r397101-replacing_lid_switch

A replacement switch can be purchased on line at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your model number and look under the "Top and Cabinet" heading. The lid switch is listed as item number 9 and the lid strike is listed as item number 20. If you're exact model number is not shown, any of the listed models will do. The part numbers are still the same. You can also try any of the following other websources: repairclinic.com, pcappliancerepair.com and appliancepartspros.com. They all offer great service and competitive pricing. I hope you find this information helpful. Let me know if you have further questions.

Check if the belt is good and tight enough. If that washer uses a spring tensioner on the belt, make sure it travels freely and applies sufficient tension.

The (X) in the model number stands for extra large (2.7cu ft) capacity. The 1 stands for single speed. The 6 stands for 6 cycles. It should have a white plastic clothes basket. More expensive models had a stainless basket. Hope this helps you.

Dryer Maytag LDE 9316 ACE -what is the capacity of that model dryer? Thank you!

bg_title_capflex.gif
Capacity is a key consideration when shopping for a dryer. The more you are able to dry in a single load, the less time and money you will spend doing your laundry. Most importantly, look for a dryer with approximately twice the cubic foot capacity of your washer.

Typical dryer capacity ranges from approximately 3.4 cubic feet (for a compact model) to over 7 cubic feet for an extra large capacitor

In addition to saving time by drying on fewer loads, and money on lower energy costs, a large capacity dryer often means spending less time once the laundry is dry. There is typically less wrinkling when clothes have more room to move around inside the drum.

Whirlpool brand offers dryers with a range of capacity and flexibility.

WHAT IS THE LOAD CAPCITY SIZE OF WASHER MODEL 110.20702990

On newer, and sometimes a little newer, Whirlpool and Kenmore (Kenmore is made by Whirlpool) considers a few things in determing capacity. Most of the inner baskets are the same size, but they also add in agitator action into the mix. A Kenmore with an auger top agitator would have higher capacity than a Kenmore with just a normal agitator, even though it has the same sized drum. So a super capacity washer would have theoretically less CLEANING CAPACITY than a super capacity plus. The agitator action is actually what determines capacity on these models. So, with that in mind, cubic load should be about the same on both units. Sorry that I had to go into "Bill Nye The Washer Guy" mode, but thats about the only way to describe. Let me know if I can confuse you any more haha. Seriously though, if you need further help or info, write back, and will try to get you some other information. Remember, this theory only works on top load "normal people" washers, not the front loaders.
