Question about Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook

1 Answer

My Acer Orbicam is pixalated on half the screen and if I want to take a picture I have to use the other half and both halves get saved. When the camera is facing me and I look at myself before the picture, it is upside-down, when I flip the camera to the otherside it is showing the right way. Also, there is some discoloration. For example, it shows my skin as a greenish color. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

Hi

you could try this

go to

start
type into search bar device manager

or run device manager

click on device manager
scroll down to imaging devices
expand it or double click it and go to properties
un install it and restart laptop
hopefully on restart windows will find new hardware ( webcam )
and re install it correctly for you

if not go to

www.acer.com

go to support/downloads find your make model and operating system
then scroll down to find the webcam driver and download it
then restart laptop and hopefully it will be ok

Sometimes the acer orbicam software will stop working if you have pictures saved in the "my pictures" folder.

Yes this is very weird, but I have seen it happen.

Acer orbicam has stopped working

** Note ** When the My Pictures or Pictures folder gets full, camera will not work - Cut and Paste all pictures in that
folder to another folder and restart Orbicam program.

If that does not work then do this:

Start - Programs - look for Acer Empowering Technology then Acer E-Recovery - The look at the bottom and you will
"Backup", "Burn disk" and Restore" choose Restore - choose Apps and Drivers at the bottom of Restore tab (it will say
extracting) - once extracted - click Install or Guides and Manuals if needing Orbicam instructions - click Vista or (XP) on the left - click Drivers - click Camera or CCD - on the
right side of the screen, then look for Bison driver or (or your model which can be found in device manager - control panel - system - device manager - Imaging devices) you have then click a phrase that has something like "Install now", follow on screen instructions. Then repeat steps above and instead of driver choose Bison (or your model which can be found in device manager - control panel - system - device manager - Imaging devices) Utility

Orbicam?

because the cam is built in its not as versatile as a mobile cam, but you can turn the cam over 225 degrees to film from the back of the notebook. If using Vista, open the cam software click the right arrow next to record video button and set your personal settings, click record and then any recording will be saved to my videos. You then can import it into windows movie maker and then add any effects to your movie. if you have XP or XP media centre you can use windows movie maker2 and make your video from within the programme itself using the orbicam, without using the orbicam software.
