You can try soaking them in a solution of 70% White Vinegar and 30% Bottled Distilled Water. At minimum you will have to soak them over night. If it appears the deposits have not cleared out in that time frame, soak them longer and rinse with Distilled Water.

How do you unscrew Hansgrohe showerhead (needs cleaning to remove calcium deposits)?

Easiest is to simply pour some CLR cleaner (from grocery or hardware store, it is a brand name) into a plastic bag, and tie the bag around the pipe with the shower head soaking in the solution.

Easy fix!

I have a mastercool cooler and i need to clean the pads. in the past i have tried soaking in a clr solution but it dont help. any tricks to do this would be great. the calcium and other deposits just stay...

My pads are 3 years old. (1) I tried soaking them in Vinegar & water which helped. (2) I then sprayed them with a hose nozzle, that helped also. We live in AZ so the dust storms can be horrendous and I still had build up. (3) So I took a variable speed drill and a wire brush and removed more. (4) Then ,as these filters are made of a wood by product, I took a belt sander ...they look good now. (5) Now when I reinstall them I am going to change the pads so pads facing outside will be facing inside, keeping the 45 degree forward and down. This last step I haven't tried, but it should work.

I am a single woman trying to prepare my mastercool for winter. I don't know how to remove the pads, so if insructions could be sent, it would be greatly appreciated. I don't know the size of the cooler,...

Is it a side draft or downdraft cooler? My instructions simply say to cover the unit, disconnect the power and drain the water for winter. They don't suggest removing or cleaning the pads until spring. If you're ductwork also is connected to your furnace, and you don't have a cookie sheet(piece of sheet metal that fits in a slot beneath mastercool unit or along the inside if it's a side draft cooler) then besides covering the entire unit you cn probably cover the blower, also called the squirrel cage, with a canvas cover.

CLR will work great, just rinse the ice maker very well after cleaning the calcium deposits and throw out the first few batches or bins of ice produced after the cleaning process. Good luck !

We have a Mastercool II & it was installed ~ 3

The pads you need are at least 8 inches thick. If you have the contractor model, then the pads will be 12 inches thick.
Find a distributor in your town that sells cooler parts, if they dont have them, some of the big home improvement stores carry the pads for your cooler.
Make sure you are using a bleedoff or a dump pump to eliminate the hard water out of the cooler. If you keep those pads clean, they wiil last for many years.

How can I clean the metal grid in the humidifier?

the most practical solution is install a new evaporative pad every year. But if you would like to squeeze "a little" extra life out of the pad . Try soaking it in a solution of 1 part white vinegar to 2 parts water.
