Well I researched a couple different sites I frequent for replacement parts and I have some bad news. Apparently this part has been discontinued. However you can always contact the company and get a price quote from them. they usually always have a few stored for cases like this. their contact information is, 1-877-SKIL-999. If theirs anything more I can do just let me know. -Derek

I have a Delta 6 bench grinder model #23-680. How do I hold the shaft from turning as I loosen the nut hold the grinding wheel in place?

Hold (or lock) the grinding wheel on the other side if loose or lock because the locking direction is the same direction and don,t forget to ringing (sound-check -like a tuning fork) the stone if you replace it with a new one The risk is small but safety first

How do I dress a grinding wheel on a bench grinder with a viberating wheel.

Hello.
First of all I must warn you of the dangers bench grinders can represent. Here in Britain no one connected with a business is allowed to carry out any maintenance on any none-portable grinding machine unless they have attended and passed a course on the subject and every employer must keep a register recording what maintenance has been carried out and by whom. Grinding machines have been responsible for many industrial "accidents".
Householders and private individuals are exempt from the Law but cannot afford to be less well informed even though the five and six inch bench grinders sold to the domestic user represent a somewhat reduced risk, great care and precautions are still required, not the least of which is the use of good eye protection even if the grinder is fitted with shields.

The first problem about dressing the grinding wheel of a grinder intended for the domestic market is the tool rests are usually too small and insubstantial for the vibrating star-wheel type wheel dressing tool to be used correctly.
A demonstration would be the best way to learn how to dress a grinding wheel and there are many available on Youtube and here is a link to a particularly good video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqxfJ4DtZtQ

Finally, it is best to be aware of one little thought about problem. There is an optimum speed range when a grinding wheel works efficiently and small domestic grinders barely turn fast enough for them to be properly efficient, probably because it is reckoned price and user safety takes priority over efficiency.
The speed that is of concern is the surface or peripheral speed of the grinding surface rather than the rpm of the spindle and should that speed fall too low the wheel will not be able to operate efficiently, will become dull more quickly with a greater tendency to clog and the wheel will become hot in use and hot grinding wheels soon become dangerous.
I hope you will be able to see that by reducing the diameter of a grinding wheel by dressing it also reduces the surface speed of the grinding surface even though the spindle speed remains the same. The relationship between surface speed and spindle speed is why small grinding points need to spin at 20,000 rpm and an eight foot wheel at just a few hundred rpm - in both cases the surface speed is similar.

A domestic grinder should not be used for heavy work but as the size of the wheel is reduced it should be used only for increasingly light work and if it is desired to carry out "normal" grinding operations it would be better to replace the wheel sooner rather than later.

Misplaced my angle grinder's inner disc flange

If you use a nut, the arbor nut will not hold your grinding/cutting wheel properly and you'll use up threade the arbor nut needs to tighten. What you need is the clamping flange, Bosch part number 3603340501. If you have a tool repair center near you they may have one or can order you one. If not, you can get one on sites like www.ereplacementparts.com.

How many seconds of grind for standard drip grind

I've long ago lost the manual that came with my grinder (I actually don't remember if it even had one), but I don't think it listed grinding times. You just grind a few seconds and check, then grind a little more if it's still too coarse. Unlike a burr grinder which is adjustable, in a blade grinder the same grind time may result in different consistencies as you change beans. By now I've just learned how long to hold the button for the different beans I buy, and the first few times I try a new blend or varietal I have to adjust the time. I think you'll just need to experiment and then you'll know what works best for your tastes.

Angle grinder

on a grinder the nut that holds the wheel on has left handed threads.....that means it has to be turned in the opposite direction than conventional nuts do..there should be a button on the casing to hold in..this keeps the grinding wheel from turning wheel being removed....remember to unplug first..thanks and have a great day

I cannot get off the abrasive cutoff wheel I put on the grinder

I believe the thread is left hand, but close inspection should verify. Also you should never over tighten cutoff wheels or grinding wheels. You should be able to remove with a gloved hand while holding button on top with the other hand

Grinder blade stuck inside skill saw cant get it out

Put your fingers behind the blade and pop the shaft with a plastic-headed hammer. You may have grinding residue that is jamming the release of the blade. Hope that helps!

How do i replace the grinder wheel on a skil 9310?

You need a special wrench that has two notches on the end. Make sure the item is unplugged. Place the wrench on the two holes where the wheel is. There is a button on top not the on off switch. The button over the wheel it's self. Push this button in as it locks the wheel. Turn the wrench counter clock wise to remove ring. Remove and replace wheel. Put on ring and do the opposite. Hold down the button and turn the wrench clock wise. That's it. Let me know if I can help you with anything else.

Usually a new wire wheel comes with different size bushing just for the problem you are describing. Either that or take it back and get one specifically for your tool.
