I did it by searching the internet rather than being led into a a system which costs money.

If I put a external preamp on a aiwa px-e850, bypassing the built in preamp, will it upgrade the sound?

Hi, I doubt if you would notice any improved sound, the speakers (in my opinion) make the most difference.

My stylus for my aiwa px-e850 is loose. Can it be tightened?

I don't think so. If it's fitted correctly it should not come loose. It sounds like you need a new cartridge. Sadly they do break. But if you get the same type you will have a spare stylus.

Aiwa PX-E850

Hi, most likely the auto function needs resetting. With the power off turn the platter manually clockwise a dozen or so times. Power up and play. Cheers john.

How do I rethread the belt on my PX-E850u Turntalbe?

Hello
The turntable bests cannot be rethreaded. It should be replaced with same size. Just go with the broken or loosen belt to any electronic spare part selling shops; from where you can buy the exact size belt. It wont cost more. Keep the present belt with you as sample. OK.

How do I attach the turntable belt to the Aiwa px e850

Lift the platter off the turntable. You can identify the motor spindle by using your fingers to turn the round shaft which rotates freely. Remove the rubber mat off the platter. Place the belt around the outside of the drum on the bottom of the platter. From the top of the platter, place your finger in one of the platter holes and tension the belt so it will not fall off or twist. Griping the platter trough the holes while keeping tension on the belt place the platter on the turntable aligning your finger with the belt to the motor spindle. Place the section of the belt on your finger over the motor spindle. Replace the rubber mat on the platter.

My PX-E860 turns on, but will not spin.

Just needs a new belt. You can get those at audio shops. Just take the table off and take a look at the belt size (should say) or take the belt to an audio shop and they can find the size.

What size belt do I need?

There are zillions of belts out there. I hope you still have the broken one which will give you the profile of a new belt. Measure the diameter of the sub-platter under the platter. The belt you need well be a slight stretch fit. Then, with the platter back in place, slip the belt over the motor pulley making sure it is not twisted.
