I have a Bang&Olufsen Beogram

Similar to most Beogram 1800, the RX 2 featured record sizing by weight. When Play was selected, the centre part of the platter would raise gently, with only just enough force to lift a 45RPM single. An LP would be too heavy to lift, so the mechanism would set itself to 45RPM and 18cm if the record lifted, 33RPM and 30cm if it did not. The speed control keys could then be used to override the choice for non-standard records. The parts could also detect if a record was not present, and prevent the turntable being activated
Just put lp on and it should work

Need a new belt for the record player

There are some common sizes of belts that are still readily available, but knowing the make and model of the turntable is required. Can you please update this with the make and model?

Thanks,
Dan

How do I rethread the belt on my PX-E850u Turntalbe?

Hello
The turntable bests cannot be rethreaded. It should be replaced with same size. Just go with the broken or loosen belt to any electronic spare part selling shops; from where you can buy the exact size belt. It wont cost more. Keep the present belt with you as sample. OK.

The drive belt off my AWA turntable has come off and I cannot re-configure it

undo clip on centre of deck circlip normally (round clip) remove deck platter round plastic that records sit on...when removed turn over replace drive belt if brokern . if just come of place belt around the inner circle so there are no twists etc on the belt ....look at near outer edge of platter there is a clip you can stretch belt to to hold so you can put over drive motor...(belt stretch from centre to clip creating v with the bely as you veiw from above ..locate motor on the deck noe alifn top of v with positin above motor .. when done drop down platter onto centre shaft again.gently turn the platter clock wise until belt locates correctly with deck ..replace clip and test ..if ok done ..if not repeat until you get it right....sometimes over time belts stretch so a new belt may be required ..ebay can supply most belts . type in turntable drive belt ..measur size of belt by cutting is it..(if strectched and no use) measure lenght of belt find replacement belt that is smaller than measurment .i.e nearest size ...hope this helps yammandan

Faulty turntable

Hi Roger It will need a new turn table belt. They are an odd size, but can generally be bought from a good spares part supplier. Let me know where you are and i will be able to steer you to a parts agent that can organise one for you. Thanks for using FixYa. A "fixya" rating will help my profile and create an incentive to get the parts source organised for you;)

Graeme
