Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Sorry but you do not mention the make and model of your particular machine but I would suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not go to spin or release the door lock if there is water still left inside.
Here are my complete and general pre-typed (!) guidance notes for checking both the drain filter and the drain motor ;-0)
-------------------------------------

If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob.
Sometimes you may need to pull the filter out.
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

Hi My F&P washer has been doing a error 51 for a couple of weeks, havent had a chance to get someone to kook at it, I stop it and restart it and it washes all the way through the cycle only did this on...

Error code 37 indicates a blocked or not working drain pump but the slight burning smell likely indicates a burned out drain pump motor. Do not use the machine unless the drain pump problem is addressed as it will result in the damage of the motor controller module. It has been found that electrical problem in the drain pump motor leads to the burning out of the motor controller module.

Error code 51 indicates a blocked or damaged diverter valve. It is where the drain pump and the recirculation pump inlet hoses are attached from. It works in directing (diverting) water to the recirculation pump during the wash stage and to the drain pump during the drain and spin stages. My wf t1001tp wont drain...can anyone help?

sounds like a blocked drain hose or a faulty pump motor..If the machine can be drained by putting the drain hose lower than the water level then the hose is not blocked and it may be the pump...Make sure the hose leaves the machine from under the tub and not high on rear of washer. Obviously water won't flow uphill..If the pump has failed a new pump motor is much cheaper than buying a whole new pump....Nomess

you may have a hair pin, coin or sock in the pump that has blocked the pump or maybe keeping your pump from turning properly. I recommend getting a tech to fix this.

Inglis Admiralwashing machine won't drain

If you are sure that you have absolutely no water being pumped at all (Put the waste pipe in the sink, put it on a pump out or spin cycle and check for water and the sound of the pump) then you may well have a dead pump.

Take a look at my article http://www.fixya.com/support/t1653253-servis_washing_machine_clothes_wet about possible solutions for a blocked pump, or http://www.fixya.com/support/t1653268-machine_pump_stopped_working_hotpoint about replacing a pump. Hope they help.

Front Loader Wont Purge Water and enter Spin Cycle

it is the drain pump, it is nt working due to lack of power entering its supply line or there is something stuck in the impeller,or its winding failed, u can check it by observing or wait till machine reach the drain cycle when you hear a humming sound during the drain cycle, you isolated already the supply to the drain pump it means the drain pump is working but there is something blocking the hose, impeller and or the pump motor is weak already. if so, call an authorized servicer or service fr the company to do the job, or if u want to fix it by yourslf, first lay down the hose of the machine at floor level, water will comes out, drain it,with that it means no problem with the water line from the tub of the machine to the drain hose, remove the back cover from there u can see the pump get a mechanical plier to remove the clamp, slide the pump or unscrew it if is installed that way then u can check now the pump physically, sometimes small pins is blocking the impeller if there is nothing and when you touch pump is so hot-it is electrically defective-the winding is weak or just what i have said earlier it is blocked or mechanically defective -replace the pump assy- u can order it -try www. repair clinic .com

WILL NOT CYCLE FROM WASH TO RINSE

You have to check your filter for any block. Then put in some water & try to spin it out; if the water does not flow out easily you have to look into your pump, could be a block in there. Refer to user's manual.

your pump is blocked or faulty a way to check is pull your washer out put your outlet hose to the ground placed either in a bucket or out the door if water comes out pump is faulty if it doesnt than its blocked were your outlet pipe goes into back panel is were your pump is make sure washer is switched off undo tip up undo clamp water will come floding out better of doing this outside if it comes out of pump than your pipe is blocked
