The computers on the network are all running windows XP. I'm guessing I would need to do this on the computer that did the original printing? It was fine this morning and then it starting doing this about 30 minutes ago.

30 minutes later it printed the rest of the 4 pages for the file. Now it's stuck on processing again.

If you are running Vista or Windows 7, go into the printers from control panel, and go to the printer properties and uncheck bidirectional communication.
I can't give total step by step because I don't know what OS you are running, but that's the main thing to do is turn off the bidirectional communication in the general tab of the printer properties in the print driver.

That helps a bit. In that case, I'd be checking the network cable to the printer.Unplug it and plug it back in....it may have just come loose.
Make sure a careless cleaner didn't nick the cable with a vacuum cleaner.

Sometimes delays can occur if the printer changes it's IP address too, so that's another thing to check on. Usually if that happens, things go bonkers for about an hour until all the machines find the printer's new IP address.

I don't mean to suggest things that you've already tried, but check out this page.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00441807&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=441125&tmp_track_link=ot_search
If you try all the steps and still have a problem, the last solution is to service the printer. But make sure you follow all the steps as shown on that page before assuming the worst.
That's not the best news - sorry.

We have a spooling problem. The sharp mx-2300n just says "ripping" and 20% complete but won't move from there and print anything. Can cancel print job from Mac but won't stop anything at the printer end....

Go into the Job review mode and highlight the pending print job (note: it may be stuck in processing). You should then get the option to delete the job.

Make sure that the pending print job is also cleared from the network print queue. They can sit in the queue and be persistent on processing, even after you've cleared the copier. Clear the queue prior to deleting the job on the copier.

If this doesn't, disconnect the copier from your network and try the above steps again, then reboot the copier and reconnect it to your network.

If you're trying to print out Adobe-based web pages from the internet, this may be what's causing your copier to jam up. There's known coding anomalies with Adobe-embedded documents on web pages. Trying to directly print from the web page can stall or lock up the print process.

I tried to default printer because, it showed printing 18 pages and I did not want it to print all now it is stuck with 1page 1/4of the page sticking out of the printer. What should I do ??

Cancel all of the print jobs in the queue.
Open the printer, highlight the print jobs, right click and choose "Cancel"
Then turn the printer off, reboot your computer, turn the printer back on while the computer is rebooting.
That reset the entire printing process.

Printer malfunction

it means that the spooled pages was somehow interrupted in the process, either by power interruption or by any means, pls cancel all documents that was queued from your PC and restart again, the printing once again. and cancel the printer button as well from the printer, if there is still some jobs awaiting to be print

The Paper light keeps flashing when theres paper in the printer

A few things could be happening here.

1. Clear the print queue, and if there are jobs that won't delete, reboot the computer.
2. Now clear the jobs on the printer (cancel job button) until the status light turns green.
3. Put a piece of paper in the manual feed tray on the front.
4. Print a test page.
If the test page prints to the paper in the manual feed tray, then it is set as the default tray. Go into the printer settings and change it to "auto" or tray 1. If the test page prints to tray 1, but the original document you tried to print (when it got stuck) still won't print, cancel the job. Now, again, put paper in the manual feed tray. Try to print the document again and if it pulls from there, go into page setup of your document and change the setting from "manual" to "auto" or tray 1. Clear the job again (if it's stuck) and you should be able to print again. Hope this helps. This is one of the most common solutions - it happens a lot, especially with documents that are emailed from other people and once they get stuck in the queue, nothing will print (except the test pages directly from the printer, like you describe).

Last page of printing stops 3/4 through the page.

Try cleaning your heads with appropriate solution. Then, cancel all print jobs. Try again. If it does the same i would turn it off, inplug all the cables, replug all and turn on. Try again. If still no good, completely unistall printer then reinstall it. Try once more. Good luck
