You will need to check the thermal fuses they are located next to the heating element. If you have a volt meter you will need to check the continuity on all the thermal fuses and the heating element replace the part that has no continuity.

There are times that the main circuit breaker can be bad you may need to check the power and make sure there is 220 volts to the unit.As you check the thermal fuses and heating element make sure the unit is unplugged

Dryer power problems

Yes, all dryers have a belt that turns the drum. Chances are the belt and heat problems are 2 separate issues.. The belt turns the drum from a motor mounted inside the unit, your electric dryer has a heater element/coils that heats the drum your clothes are in. The belt could be bad and heat element also but both at exactly the same time is rare. Try unplugging the unit for about 5minutes and see if it resets. My washer does that sometimes and I have to unplug

Whirpool lgr6620pto will not heat up and will run all day untill i open the door

Heating element is either burnt in two or vent pipe is clogged with lint or birds have made a nest in the pipe on the outside wall or roof. Yes, a bird can lift that little flapper door up and will fill that pipe until it is clogged. To check to see if it is a heating element, close the door to your laundry room & the light out, turn the timer knob to any selection, with the door open & no clothes in the drum, find the door switch located somewhere around the door frame and hold it in while turning the start knob on. If the element is good you will see a red glow coming from the vent holes at the inside back of the drum. No glow, no good.
