I have a sony walkman NWZ-W252 the only number i can find is the serial number 5052051 and it is not being recognized by my computer when i try to install it it says its corrupt

On a Windows OS you might need to go to go to the "Device Manager" (google it please) and when the device is connected and there is a problem it should show you the device with a yellow mark next to it.
Right click it (make sure it's the one for the mp3 player) and choose 'uninstall'. Disconnect the mp3 player, wait a few seconds and reconnect.
Make sure the computer is connected to the Internet.
Try connecting it to different computers to see if it makes a difference, if not then your mp3 player may have developed a fault.

My NWZ 252 has no power

It could be the MP3 player problem OR it could also be a faulty USB cable. The first step would be to try to connect it to a different computer. If the same problem happens then you may want to try to buy a new cable and try to connect it again (possibly in more than one computer). If the problem persists it seems it is a fault with the MP3 player, and your options would be to send it back (if still under warranty) or, unfortunately, buy a new one.

Not working !

I have the very same issue yesterday and i sent it to a service centre about an hour ago. they were strangely very willing to replace faulty units with a newer model at no charge if item is still within warranty. Mine already passed the warranty and still they are willing to let me trade in the old unit at 80% of what i paid and pay only 20% of new item.

Strongly suspect that this is a **** product and many people are facing the same issue. Screw Sony!

Here is the official manual online: Sony NWZ-W252 MP3 Player

When you mean "How to open", do you mean How do you open the player on your computer? If that's the case, if you have a Windows based Operating System, you should be able to just to to "My Computer". then once you have connected the mp3 player to the PC, the mp3 player will show up as an extra storage Hard Drive logo on screen. Once that appears you can drag and drop MP3 music files onto the device.

Hope this helps!

The hardware is been detected but says problem occured during installation

This often happens during installs. I would try and use the MP3 player and see if it works correctly. If it doesn't, reboot your computer and try inserting the player again.
