Plug your GPS into a computer ..and it will either download program or send you to maker of your GPS website ..to download there program once that is done it will have all the updates on the program for you ..good luck

Hi Tracy, It depends what model gps and which country you live, I live in Australia and have a life time of maps for Australia and New Zealand and even though I'll probably never go to New Zealand every time I update my maps it automatically updates all. By-the-way a life time of maps is as long as my Navman keeps working... CHEERS..

The basic 1350 model doesn't have free map updates but the 1350LMT model does. LMT stands for lifetime map and traffic updates but of course you're pay extra for the LMT models. Note lifetime means the lifetime of the satnav not your life. It comes with maps of Australia and NZ when bought in one of these countries. If you want more than these maps you'll need to store them on a memory card. You'll have to download them to your computer and then install them to a memory card. You'll find details of how to do this at http://www.fixya.com/support/r5628920-update_garmin_satnav_maps which tells you how to update your maps including how to set up a map on a memory card. Ok, plug unit into PC,via USB, navigate to Magellan website and download latest "Updates" then, you buy your map and download, and install.

I hate these things but they do sync with microsoft. I was unable to find a proper driver too but did find out that MS SYNC

well you need to update the firmware of your gps also call garmin customer support they are great tell them about the map, also the poor satelite cover might be because of your location or weather conditions

Hi, it took me a long time to find the map update for my VDO 2010, but patience has paid off.
Go to www.whereis.com.au Click on the "map shop" link on the left of screen. Scroll down and you will find the link for.....


VDO Dayton. MS2010 V14.0 Update
VDO Dayton MS2010 Portable navigation system -IMPORTANT- This map update will not work in a In-car navigation system.
Click on this link, then add to cart. You will have to create a log on, but that's easy done.

Any bluechart that has been preloaded on an SD card should work.  Did you purchase your chip with the data preloaded or did you download it yourself?  If you downloaded it yourself, try erasing the sd card, format it, then insert the blank card in the 420 and power it up. This somehow preps the chip for the data download.  Then download the bluechart onto the chip and try again.  There is some ambiguous wording in the download screen that makes it look like some kind of error, try the download anyway and most of the time it will work. After the download is complete it should list the bluechart software version on the screen along with some other software info.  If the operating system software is not v2.5 or higher, you may need to download a software update first.
