SOURCE: vaccum has no suction

check Belt - if your vacuum has a hose check it for suction --(make and model - canister or upright?) If belt is broken it does not matter how much suction you have - you need aggitation to clean carpet.

SOURCE: Wont pick up

Mine was doing this soon after I bought it. I had to cut the strings, and hair off the brush...cleaned the filter (plastic one) and then it seemed to do better. I still have problems with it getting clogged in the tube once in a while...I usually take a broom stick and push it through...I also have a Kirby, I tell ya I am thinking of spending the money to have it fixed because these cheaper ones aren't very good.

SOURCE: vaccum has no suction

Here is what we did to fix the problem of our vacuum having no suction.
We unscrewed the three screws on the back and took the hose off of the vacuum.  Then we took the hose outside and put the water hose through the vacuum hose and turned on the water.  After about 30 second the water pushed through a dust bunny the size of a fist and a marker.  Basically, the vacuum did not have suction because the hose was clogged with dust, etc.  After reassembling the vacuum, it worked just fine.

SOURCE: Dyson Vaccum suction not strong enough

Look for an obstruction in the air passages at the bottom and where the air enters the canister. Make sure the HEPA filter is not plugged (take it out for a test). Hope this helps!

SOURCE: My vaccum motor is running

If every thing is running but you have no suction than there is either a clog in the hose somewhere or the filter is plugged up and needs cleaned out or replaced

Help my dyson dc fourteen has stopped picking up he brushes dont turn the belt is intact but no suction for bottom of vaccum cleaner the pull out pipe works fine

Most likely your top filter is blocked. You can see it here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1SvGJAjukY

The most important thing when owning a Dyson is to not overfill the dust container. It will say "max" If you stay under that your filter will stay cleaner longer.

Upon turning on vaccum it starts ok, but a second later it spits out some dust dirt out and does not vaccum. We hear like a poof suction when this happens. Cleaned all the tubes around it, but thinking...

The poof suction sound you hear is most likely the suction release valve opening up because there is a clog or restriction somewhere. If you don't feel qualified it is usually a better idea to take it to a qualified repair facility.

I have a shark navigator vacuum that is making a loud noise and sounds like air is blowing out a hole on the side

I found the issue, the square hole in the side is an emergency air release if the suction is not reaching the dust collector. The cylinder filter screen inside the the top of the dust collector had a thick layer of dust which wasn't allowing airflow to the dust collector, hence the air was escaping through the square hole on the side. I cleaned the screen and it worked as if it came right out of the box.

Vacuum

I just discovered that if you remove the dust cup, lay the vaccum back, reach up inside above the dust cup area, there is a yellow piece that can be removed (twist it and it comes out.) I found that there were GOBS of lint and pet hair stuck inside there. We removed all of that and the vacuum works great again!
