Put me on

Probably 'malware' (installed by software you wanted to have)
when some software is installed, 'free' software is also installed, Like toolbars and security software. They always run in the background, or when a browser is opened. Then they 'maintain' settings (I.e. search page & home page settings).

you can:
-disable toolbars in browser (that you don't want/use)
-diable/uninstall/remove software/features that you don't use
("always run" / "auto start")
-check your AV: McAfee/AVG/Norton. They also maintain your
search/home address settings.

if you notice new icons by the clock (that you don't need/use) remove/disable/uninstall the problem program.

I have no sound on works everywhere else

1) Is your JAVA up to date?

2) Adobe Flash Player up to date?

When you go to install the update, make SURE the boxes with green checkmarks, are Unchecked.
Click on them one time, to do so.

Otherwise you may wind up with McAfee, (Eww), and an toolbar, (Yuck), and a Google toolbar. (No way Ray)

I have too many tool bars on my screen , How do I delete the ones I do not need

Usually happens when one installs a program, application, etc.

You're in the middle of installing, and they want to sneak an anti-virus program in, ( trial offer), or Google toolbar, or toolbar, or whatever the 'new flavor of the month is'.

A) Add/Remove Programs:
1) Click on Start (Or Windows logo button), then on Control Panel.
2) Click on Add/Remove Programs.

3) Look down the list, when Add/Remove Programs is fully loaded.
See any toolbar names there?

Probably will not state toolbar with the name, but if you see Ask, Google, etc; that does not look like a program you installed; click on Remove.
(DO NOT remove any Windows programs)

B) Reinstall your internet browser
Have Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc?

Download again, and reinstall.
WATCH that you just save your bookmarks, and do not save the toolbars again.

[It will ask if you wish to save your Bookmarks/Favorites, etc.
Yes to that. No to anything else ]

[ I had the toolbar, slip in on me the other day! Sheesh!
Deleted that baby fast!
I use Mozilla Firefox. Don't need no cr@p.

When you are installing, look through each small screen.
If you see an advertisement; toolbar, Google toolbar, McAfee, etc;
there will be a small square to the left of it, and a Green checkmark in the box.

There also may be two boxes.
Go to the small box on top with the first listing, left-click on the box.
This removes the green checkmark from that box.
Also from the small box below it.

Now click on Next

KEEP a sharp eye on every small window. May have to uncheck a box on a few windows. You can back up to the beginning, and look again. Be SURE before you click on Install.
Usually starts out with McAfee. {Yuck! ]

I can get yahoo messenger ,i get 0xc0150002

That is a registry error. You need a virus cleaner:
The most reliable are norton and mcafee. Or you can get free ones like this:
The problem with the freeones is that they carry over ads or unwanted toolbars.
Do it at your own discretion

I have installed IE8. I am getting the follow message'' raised unhandled exeption in the third party moudle. How do I fix it?

One of your "add-on" modules (Google or McAfee or Norton or Yahoo or other "toolbar") is incompatible with IE8.

Click: START
Click: Control Panel
Click: Add/Remove Programs
Select and "remove" the toolbar.

Keep removing toolbars, and keep trying IE8, until it works.

Move location of mcafee site advisor toolbar

Ok if you were like me and updated your mcafee security and it updated your siteadvisor it moved it from by your status bar to your toolbar. I uninstalled mcafee internet security, then reinstalled it using the custom setting. After you do that do not install siteadvisor. Once all that is done install mcafee siteadvisor for firefox on its own and this should solve the problem it worked for me.
