Question about Zenith Televison & Video

2 Answers

I have a Zenith Direct View Color TV purchased in 1997 that has been an excellent TV with a fantastic picture. As I was using it with the Wii and Wii Fit Thursday, the screen went black, all of a sudden, and smoke started coming out of the back. I really don't think I was exercising THAT hard! :-) Does this sound like a problem that is more expensive to fix that the television is worth, and do I have to do something to be able to use this TV after 2/2009? Thank you so much. Edwina

Thanks, Kevin. I was surprised that this posted under "Projection televisions." IS this a projection television? If the "power supply has blown off," are we talking expensive repair, and will I still need to pay for something else to have it in compliance with the 2/2009 mandate?

Thanks again. I appreciate your help.

Hello Edwina,
Well theres a possible power surge or short circuit on your board which has caused the smoke as well as its the reason due to which the screen went back..Even my Tv was in a same state 2 years back but it was not a very big problem luckily ,it just caused me 20 $ to say..So dont worry call up for a service person who can check out the short circuited IC and replace it..Thank you!!

Please post back how things turned or for further assistance..

Good Luck

Kind Regards!!...

Connect a Wii to VCR

Hello
Take the Wii's audio/video cable and the power cord and hook them up in the back of the Wii.
Take the Wii's audio/video cable and plug it into the 'audio-in and video-in sockets on your VCR.Make sure you match the cable colors with the input colors.i.e white goes with white, yellow with yellow and red with red.
Take the RCA cable which looks like the picture below,

1_22_2012_6_55_20_pm.jpg
and plug one end of this audio/video cable into the 'audio out' and 'video out' ports on the VCR.Make sure the cable and ports colors match.
Now take the other end of the RCA cable and plug into the 'audio in' and 'video in' ports on your TV.Again make sure you match the color connections.

Hope it helps.

I have no color

Are you using the default video cable (Red, White, Yellow) for video and sound? Make sure the Red and White are connected to the audio in for video 2 and that the yellow is connected to the video in for video 2. It might also be labeled composite video on your TV. If you are using the Red/Green/Blue plugs labeled component or Y/Pb/Pr then that might your problem with the black and white video.

As for the controller sync problem, you should press the red button next to the SD card slot on the Wii and the red button under the battery door of the new Wii remote in order to sync the two.
