Goes into overload and shuts down

Not very much information in your problem troy but you might be drawing more amps than your producing. I had bought a nice little Craftsman electric tire pump but my Yamaha kept dying. After reading the labels, my 2400IS puts out 15 amps and my tire pump needed 18 amps, my friend now has a nice tire pump for his home use. I've seen post that RVers have to add the "booster" kit to start their air conditioners, extra power is needed to start them after that the 2400 can run them. Just a thought, try reading the metal tag on what your trying to run and see how many amps it needs. Anything over 15 will shut you down and some will need that extra "boost" to get them started. I seem to think I read somewhere that it is about $75.00 for the Yamaha booster kit.

My gps will not turn on I need to sent in for repair. It's under 2 year service plan that is going to expair in one months.

Explain not turn on as sometimes that has mre than one meaning.
If it wont charge then that is different to pressing the power button and it not turning on.

A lot of people also say it wont turn on but the steps below usually fix many of these situations.
If you have an SD card in try removing that before you power up.
You may also want to try the hard reset.
Paper clip in the tiny hole by the card slot.
Push it in firmly whilst the unit is powered up (not too hard) for about 3 seconds then release
You may have to power down and then up again and even hold down the power button a little longer the first time you do this

Won't turn off or on, wont do anything, is lit up though

Might try a warm reset. Unscrew the plastic top of the stylis. and push it into the reset hole in the back of the unit, remone it from the reset hole, then turn unit back on.

I love this unit!

Resetting should not remove your maps. Have you purchased new maps since you bought the unit? Have you tried charging the unit via the computer, or just with the car charger. Sometimes charging on the computer can help.

GPS 2200T Just Quit Today

My 2200T developed similar problem and shut down and when attempting to start it, I received “low battery message”. After getting a run around from the manufacturer (out of warranty by a month), I decided to take a look myself. This does not men that I encourage just anyone to do this and if you break the unit more seriously I am not responsible. The process is as follows:
Unscrew the back panel (six screws), gently remove it (be careful of the speaker wires attached to the PC board). You do not have to remove the back panel any further than to get access to the power outlet (where you plug in the power supply). On the inside of the unit, on top of the outlet is a thin copper plate, it is likely that it was bend up with use and lost contact with the plug. Gently bend it inwards using a small screwdriver (be careful not to break it). That should do it. Your unit should be getting the power and battery should charge now.
