Are there bearings for the drum for the LG1812? It became very loud during the high speed spin and there is play between the tub and the tub enclosure.

Loud rubbling during the spin cycle would definately indicate that the bearings have failed. Bearings can be replaced, and can be found online as repairclinic.com, but it is rather difficult job if you are not mechancally inclined.

During spin cycle drum makes loud noise. Sounds like bearings are going out. Can they be lubricated? Or replaced

Depends on what sort of machine it is. (Front or top load)Bearings can be replaced but this will always entail replacement of all the tub seals and in the case of front loaders, almost always , it will need a new drum shaft. The costs to fix can be expensive. To confirm bearing failure, you can see if the tub moves and clunks on the main shaft and the noise will increase as the tub speed increases. Drum bearings usually fail when the tub seal fails or is worn out, allowing water to get into the bearing and wash all the grease out. Brown , black greasy stains under your machine and on the floor is usually a telltale sign as well.

Hi,

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

Washer drum making loud noise when spinning

Reach into the drum (on a front-loader)and push upward to see if it moves at all, you should feel no play where the drum support shaft passes through the bearings... The bearings will "roar" loudly during spin if the main seal has leaked water into them... Top-load washers will exhibit the same roaring if the seal fails in them also. Loud Bearing Noise During Spin Cycle- MAH4000AWW

I don't know these front loaders so well but, here's a couple of things to look for.
1) If belt driven, look for the spring loaded tensioner. Once tension is released, check the pully & see if it has excessive play.
2) Check the gasket on front panel & see if drum has rubbed thru it in order to make metal to metal contact.
3) There is alot of pressure on that rear bearing...make sure it's not egg shaped or scored on the inside.

If all else fails, shotgun it (in other words, replace those moving parts you suspect:)

Loud noise during rinse cycle

Hi

If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary. Also check for drum bearing failure if your washing machine is noisy on the spin cycle. Drum bearing failure is common when the bearing seals start allowing water to enter. You can take the belt off and spin the drum by hand, and if the drum rumbles, replace the bearings.

Turn the drum by hand and listen for loud noises. If the drum itself is split or the 'spider' is corroded, broken or has come apart from the back of the drum it will create a loud noise on every turn of the drum. (When the bearings have gone bad, the noise is constant the entire time the drum is spinning.)

Look for obvious dents and creases in the drum or look for coins or small objects stuck inside the tub underneath the drum when a horrendous noise is made while clothes are in the tub.

Clear the water pump from obstructions like coins or small objects when a noise occurs while the washing machine is emptying water.

Remove the sump hose and look for bra wires if you hear a light scraping noise when the drum is turned by hand. You can also check to make sure a wire isn't poking out of one of the holes in the drum. In this case, you can pull the wire out easily with pliers.

Take the belt off and run the motor alone if you hear a high pitched squealing noise to check for motor bearing damage or wear. If you still hear the noise without the belt, it's the motor bearing.

Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.

Drum Speed - Unstable

The spin bearing or basket drive may be worn. When these components are worn-they prevent the drum from spinning freely, and usually you hear a loud sound during the spin mode.

Ecosmart loud during spin cycle

My majestic sounds exactly the same on the spin cycle and I wondered what the problem was. Is your unit still under warranty? If so, call the customer service line and get a repair started. I am a firm believer in warranty work on products I have purchased. WE pay hard earned cold cash on our consumer products and WE should be taken care of properly.

Good luck and please let us know what the solution was to your problem.
