Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

Hi I have a retro (late 80s) Philips ghettoblaster 6 speaker, MDHQ, model number D8304/05. It has 4 band radio and double cassette deck. I has 2 sockets for Aux line in left and right, but when I connect up my IPOD using the normal 3.5mm jack to the Aux line in sockets nothing happens and there is no obvious swicth anywhere on the unit to kick in the Aux. I can only choose Radio or cassette switches, so am not sure how to get the playback coming through the speakers on the stereo. The IPOD is working through the earphones so nothing so wrong with the connection on the IPOD. Can you help please?

The tape has to be recording for the line in to work. Paused Record will also work.

Gidday,i am trying to find out the year of my 50 h power mercury blue band . The serial number I have is 8016593 and I am looking for both the inner and outer wiring harnesses

50 hp is a 4 cylinder powerhead.. blue band denotes 80s model engines.. my dads was a red band 69 model.. the red band stopped in the late 70s like 79 .. the wire harnesses are almost identical from 40 hp on up to about 80 or higher, just a heavier set of starting cables.. may need to check into used equipment.. might find something easier there.. check mwith a mercury dealer near you also..

Again...how do you hook up these 3 items...i have no manual...a Pioneer stereo tuner control, power amplifier, double cassette deck, and speaker...pioneer model #CX-770, CT - W 770, & M - 770?

This would be easier to help you with pictures but I will give you the basics. There should be an input that is labeled either cassette deck or line in. That is where you will plug in the cassette player (that is coming from the output of the player) The cords should be red and white for left and right audio. The back of the tuner should have an output labeled something like preamp out. That will be any number of types of connectors but you should be able to find the right cables. From that output put that in the left/right channel of the amp. It may be labeled something like channel 1 channel 2 input. The speakers will go to the output to the speakers probably also labeled channel 1 and 2. If you post pictures of the backs of all of the equipment I will get more detailed.

How do I dub using the onyx double cassette deck?

There should be a button or switch that will select the recording deck and the dubbing deck. You put a blank tape into the recording deck and the pre-recorded one into the play deck. Pressing the record button on the dubbing deck, on some models should start the play deck running. If not press play on that deck.
