Question about Apple iPod nano

1 Answer

Ipod has froze

My ipod nano is locked even though the hold switch isn't on. It wont do anything, no matter what button I press. The screen stays lit up all day. I plugged it into my computer and went on itunes and the little bar on the left side with the picture of the ipod on it didn't come up so I cant sync music or anything. Its completely frozen.

i have an iPod apple nano first generation-black 2GB then it has a hard
plastic cover. One time it accidentally fell from my bed. When i picked
it up it was off and i can't turned it on when finally i have decided
to connect it to my PC. After I connected it it turned on-the apple
logo appeared- but the "hold" icon appeared also even when the "hold"
slide key on top was not set on "hold", so no matter what press to the
center wheel nothing happens. And after one minute it automatically
shuts off again.I tried already reseting its factory setting but still
    it won't works.

this is the picture of my ipod nano with hard plastic cover

Have you guys tried a reset?

To reset your iPod:

  • 1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  • 2. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

Ipod 5th Generation Video froze and is now dead

Try doing this: Toggle the hold switch and put it back in the off position. Then press and hold the center button and the menu button simultaneously for ten seconds and the apple symbol should come up on the screen. Then it should work like normal. Hope this helps!

My ipod nano is frozen

Try pushing down and holding for at least 5 seconds the Menu button and the center Select button, at the same time. This should force your iPod to restart and it should eventually again be discovered in iTunes. Using the Restore option aftwerwards in iTunes is adviceable, at least make sure your iPod has the last version of its software. Good luck!

I have a 8gb ipod nanm and recently it froze and won't move or

  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.

Ipod nano 8GB 3rd generation FROZEN!

First make sure your hold switch isn't on. It's on the top or bottom and slides back and forth. It needs to be switched to the left. Once it is to the left, here's how you reset:

You can reset your ipod by holding down the menu and select (round button in the center) buttons down for at least 10 seconds. You'll see an apple logo flash, that's when you stop pressing the buttons. It will shut off, then back on.

Make sure that your iPod’s hold button isn’t on. (little switch at the top left corner of the iPod). If this is on, you’ll see a little orange area at the top of the iPod nano and a lock icon on the iPod screen. If you see either of these, move the switch back and see if this fixes the problem. If that doesn't fix it:

Hold down the Menu button on the clickwheel and the center button at the same time. Hold these together for 6-10 seconds. This should restart it. You’ll know it's restarting when the Apple logo appears on-screen.
