Question about HP DesignJet 1050c InkJet Printer

Open Question

Hewlett Packard Designjet 1050c We are experiencing a continuing problem with our Hewlett Packard Designjet 1050c. We have experienced printhead failures in the last two years (just the Black printhead),which were initially dealt with by replacing several black printheads (inclusive of New printhead, cleaner & cartridge ie., the official 'value pack') Due mainly to cost, we eventually ceased our remedial attempts to keep the machine printing in favour of employing a professional Technician from a reputable firm to diagnose the fault. The machine was stripped and the electronics were completely replaced along with a further Black printhead (At some great cost). Approx. 2 months after it was back in service, the first warning of a printhead failure arrived and we have experienced sporadic bursts of successful printing coupled with many frustrating failures ever since. The machine has gradually got to the point where we can no longer use it and ask if you could please offer some meaningful advice - Many Thanks.

SOURCE: HP Designjet 1050C Pluss - Error Code Question

Hi there only can try.
This is a firmware error, meaning your f/w simm is probably bad. You can try reseating the simm. It is behind the small panel in the back of the plotter, that is held on by 4 torq screws. Reseat all the simms that are present and see if that helps. If not, you probably need to purchase a new firmware simm.

Also try looking at
pulling the JetDirect card and then re booting it
